Don't cheap out on this crucial link
Whether you're feeding stereo music to a DAC or Dolby® Digital surround sound to your receiver, the optical cable is a crucial link in the signal chain and shouldn't be overlooked. Cheaply made optical cables can have imperfections in the fiber that cause light to "scatter," compromising signal integrity. The CableTruth 303T optical cable uses a special low-dispersion polymer fiber to minimize signal corruption and timing errors. It provides a distortion-free connection between digital audio source components — CD players, Blu-ray or DVD players — and A/V receivers, DACs, and even some sound bars. The cable has full-size Toslink connectors at each end.
Why fiber instead of copper?
Optical cables carry signals as pulses of light rather than a stream of electrons, so they are virtually impervious to magnetic or electrical interference. Unlike cables made of wire which require some type of metal connector to transfer the signal between components, in an optical cable, the very tip of the connector is the fiber itself, and it requires special polishing to reduce light refractions.

Features
Optical (Toslink) Digital Cable: The CableTruth Toslink optical cable uses a specifically specified low-dispersion polymer fiber. This minimizes signal corruption and timing errors that occur when a normal fiber's imperfections cause light to "scatter", forcing the light signal to take multiple paths within each fiber. Each path has a slightly different length, introducing dispersion-over-time, causing partial misinterpretation of the digital data stream and inferior sound.
- Low-Dispersion Fiber Minimizes Digital-Timing Errors
- Polished Optical Interface Minimizes Light Dispersion
- Inner-Armor Layer Protects Optical Fiber

The optical cable was a great price. I didn't realize each end had a protective plastic cover. Once I removed those the cable worked great and I eliminated the old 3 cable AV cable with this better sounding optical sound cable.
