A powerful full-range amp

The Wet Sounds HT-4 amp packs a phenomenal amount of punch into a compact package that's ideal for your boat or car stereo system. This Class D full-range amplifier can be configured to run almost any speaker combination — from multiple speakers and tower set-ups to high-powered subwoofers. With high-pass and low-pass filters plus bass boost on all channels, you'll be able to fine-tune your system to get the sound you want.

The HT-4 also lets you enjoy the convenience of RCA input summing. With this feature, you can drive all channels with one set of RCA cables without the need for RCA Y-adapters.

Get the look you like

Because every boat installation (not to mention every boater) is unique, these amps let you create a great-sounding system that suits your boat — and your style. The HT-4's removable power/ground and speaker wire plugs help if you install your amp in a tight location, while snap-on mounting feet allow you to run wiring under the amp so more exposed installations look clean and neat.

If you want to show off your gear, you can paint the accent stripes and removable wiring and control covers to suit your style. You can even place the backlit logo badge horizontally or vertically.

Rugged amps that really rock

Wet Sounds Hydro TechT amps are designed to produce serious power under the toughest conditions. A conformal-coated circuit board, a sealed, salt-water resistant heat sink, and stainless steel hardware ensure that your amp will stand up to salt, spray, high temperatures, and high volume levels for seasons to come.

I had been looking for a 4 channel amp with a decent amount of power per channel and this is the cheapest one that i have found by far. It's packs a serious amount of power in a very compact design and is very affordable. Definitely happy with my purchase.

This amp was a good deal at the closeout price. I've got it running 4 Wet Sounds XS-650 speakers in my boat and it sounds great, nice and clear and loud. This equipment is all new so I don't have a comparison with any other amps on these speakers yet. Overall I'm happy with the sound and the price was half off. Shipped fast too

Pros: Small size Good sound Quick shipping

Cons:

Awesome.

Wet Sounds HT-4

The amp is physically a small compared to others in its power class. It plays clean and has a low shelf noise level for a class d powered amp. I have not clamp tested it to see what its actual power output is, but it is noticeably more powerful than the memphis pr100.4 that I was running on the same component set. I am not using the crossover on the amp so I can not comment on that. The only complaint that I have is that the speaker output terminals and the power input terminals are very cheap made compared to any quality brand amp that I have used in the past.

Pros: Compact size with low power consumption

Cons: Cheap made exterior and wiring terminals

Clear strong audio when paired with my kicker marine 6.5's and 8's. Being able to control the audio distribution makes this amp worth every penny. My boat can be heard clearly from a good distance.

Pros: strong amp, great crossover and built to last in a marine environment. Works great with a boat battery setup and voltage issues that are commonly experienced on boats

This is a Great Amp for Marine applications. I needed an amp to push 4 Tower Speakers on my boat and the Quality and Price Couldn't be beat. I would highly recommend this amp for Tower Speakers.

Pros: Superior Performance at a Great Price!

Cons: Hard to find similar model amps. I would like to match the appearance with other Wet Sounds Amps (HT-1 and HT-6) but Wet Sounds will soon be replacing this model.

Perfect power source for my 4 tower speakers

Perfect power source for my 4 kicker speakers in my Roswell rack. Compartment where it's mounted stays mostly dry but it's never a bad idea to be safe. Water tight fabrication and clean power is worth the money

Pros: Water tight fabrication and clean power

Cons: Wasn't part of the factory stereo

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent!!! I have one pair of Rev 8 tower speakers and purchased this amp to power them. Very impressed with the power it has.

Pros: Small & compact for a boat.

Cons: The only negative is it would be better if the adjustment/setting knobs were on top or on the same side of the RCA & power inlets.

Features

Marine Amplifier: The Wet Sounds Hydro-Tech series amplifiers, with conformal coated PCBs, are specifically designed for marine applications. However, the amps are not waterproof, and should not be mounted where they are likely to get wet.

4-Channel Amp: The HT-4 is a 4-channel amplifier, basically two 2-channel amps in one chassis. The inputs, outputs, and controls are labeled CH1/CH2 or CH3/CH4.

Mounting Feet: Using the included mounting feet adds approximately 1/2" to the height of the amp, but allows you to hide the wiring under the chassis.

Logo: The Wet Sounds logo mounts over the status LED, on the top of the amp. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

End Covers: There are removable covers on both ends of the amp to help protect the controls and connections. The covers can be painted.

Note: A 3mm Allen wrench (not included) is needed to remove the covers. They must be removed during the installation.

Controls

Control Panel Cover: All the controls are protected by a rubber cover to help keep them dry.

Input: When only using one pair of the RCA inputs, set the Input switch to 2CH. When using all four RCA inputs, set the Input switch to 4CH.

Gain: CH1/CH2 and CH3/CH4 have independent gain controls, continuously variable rotary controls; 200 mV to 5 V.

Crossover: CH1/CH2 and CH3/CH4 have independent crossover controls. Each 12 dB/octave crossover can be set to low pass, high pass, or full (crossover is bypassed and the amp output is full range). The crossover points are adjustable from 50 Hz to 250 Hz.

Bass Boost: CH1/CH2 and CH3/CH4 have independent bass boost controls; both centered at 45 Hz, they are continuously variable from 0 dB (flat) to +12 dB.

Connections

Power Terminal Block: The amplifier has a power/ground terminal block that detaches from the amplifier, making it easier to connect the power and ground wires. Once the connections are made, the terminal block plugs into the amplifier. The power/ground block has set screw terminals and will accept 4 gauge wire.

Speaker Terminal Blocks: The speaker terminal blocks also detach from the amplifier. One speaker block has set screw terminals for two speakers and the remote turn-on lead, the other has set screw terminals for two speakers. All the terminals will accept 12-16 gauge wire.

Preamp Inputs: The amplifier has two pair of RCA jack inputs.

Preamp Outputs: There is also one pair of pass-through preamp outputs, making it easy to connect another amplifier without running an extra set of RCA cables.

Note: The preamp inputs and preamp outputs are extended 5" from the amp on pigtail wires.

Fuses: The amplifier is protected by two 25-amp ATO blade-type fuses.

Hi. I'm Matt an actual customer who just purchased a Wet Sounds HT-4. I haven't had time to install it in my boat so unfortunately I can't speak of the sound quality or power output. It does however look and feel like a quality unit tho. [ Matt  Mar 15, 2016 ]
Yes, you can use channel 3 and 4 bridged for your amp and 1 and 2 individually for tower speakers. You'll want to utilize all 4 input channels to get stereo vs mono sound. Just make sure the amplifier meets the power demand of the speakers you're looking for. I got the information for my set up from the user manual on the crutchfield product page. [ Matthew  Mar 15, 2016 ]
i am pretty sure this can be done each set of channels 1&2 and 3&4 have their own separate hi and low pass filters so just throw 1&2 on high for the tower and 3&4 on low and bridge then into the sub. Hope this helps [ Brian  Mar 15, 2016 ]
Yes, you can run the front channels in stereo and bridge the rear channels for a subwoofer. [ R. BRIAN  Mar 15, 2016 ]
