About the Wet Sounds SW-650-W

Jon Paul

Salt, spray — and great sound

Wet Sounds built their SW-650-W speakers to give you serious sound while you're out having serious fun on the water. These rugged 6-1/2" coaxial speakers feature closed (non-removable) grilles that resist salt and spray, so they're ideal for salt water boats or any open runabout. They'll handle up to 100 watts RMS, so you can pair them up with a marine amp for optimum performance.

The right materials

Wet Sounds makes the speaker frame and grille from strong, durable Nylas™ (a combination of nylon and fiberglass), which ensures a safe home for injection-molded composite cone. The horn-flare titanium tweeter is mounted in the grille, providing further strength and water resistance, while durable rubber is used for the spider, speaker surround, and magnet boot.

These powerful speakers are built for boating, but they're also a great choice for a custom installation in any off-road vehicle that sees hard-core, all-weather use.

Features

Nylas Basket and Grille: Both the speaker frame and grille are made of Nylas, a composite mix of Nylon and Fiberglass, providing strength and stability. The grille is not removable.

Rubber Spider: Durability is further improved by the rubber spider Wet Sounds developed for their marine speakers.

Tweeters: The tweeters are mounted to the grilles, rather than to a pole piece, thus there is no chance of water leaking through the woofer cone.
