About the Wet Sounds WW-BT-VC (Version 2)

Jon Paul

One knob to control it all

Streaming audio through Bluetooth is a wonderful thing, but trying to use a touchscreen to find a song when you're on a boat and the water's choppy is not. This marine-rated Bluetooth control knob from Wet Sounds makes it a lot easier to pause, play, track forward, track backwards and adjust the volume on your iPhone® or Android® smartphone. Pairing is quick and intuitive, making Bluetooth control a lot easier than you'd think.

This marine-rated Bluetooth control knob from Wet Sounds makes it a lot easier to pause, play, track forward, track backwards and adjust the volume on your iPhone® or Android® smartphone. The 3.5mm output makes it easy to connect the control knob to any marine receiver with an AUX input, or to the Wet Sounds WS 420 SQ 4-band equalizer. You can mount the water-resistant WW-BT-VC flush in your boat's dash or install it underneath, out of sight. It's also a great option for ATV riders or classic car owners who want to enjoy amplified music without replacing the factory radio.

Q
Does this make an audible beep or tone when powering on?Also does this offer stand alone powering on and off, or is it solely ignition controlled?
graham  Aug 09, 2018
1 answer
A
There is no audible beep, but there are blue LED lights that turn on to indicate power on the Wet Sounds WW-BT-VC. It would need to be wired directly to a 12V+ source for power though. For more details or to discuss further, please contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. Thanks!

Q
possible to pair this to a tablet and have the tablet paired to a head unit (simultaneously)?
logix7  Jul 06, 2018
1 answer
A
The idea would be to have your Bluetooth source device (tablet) paired with the WW-BT-VC wirelessly via Bluetooth and have the WW-BT-VC connected to an auxiliary audio input on your stereo (head unit) with an audio cable.

connect it to the power wire that feeds your stereo. typically the red wire coming out of the plug on the back of the stereo. ground the other wire to anything that goes to ground. this way the bluetooth will only be on when the stereo is on.
kyle  Dec 04, 2014

I don't know what car your have but I installed this on my boat and it's pretty easy. You can either get a test light and find a wire that has power after the ignition is turned on or splice into the hot feeding your cigarette lighter. Without knowing your specific vehicle and looking at it will be hard to get a direct answer. Try seeing if there is an Internet forum for your vehicle, usably a wealth of info in those.

I wired it with stereo and car harness power and ground wires but when I turned the key to power accessory only the radio turned not the Bluetooth control , what could I be doing wrong?
josue  Dec 04, 2014
A
Any keyed 12v wire behind your radio would be fine
