Wet Sounds XS-10FA-S4

Built tough for life on the water

Wet Sounds designed this 10" marine subwoofer to give you impressive bass, worry-free performance, and plenty of style. Designed by boaters for boaters, this 4-ohm sub's sleek silver finish and rugged grille will look great on your boat.

Made for marine use

Wet Sounds built this sub to survive the often-harsh extremes of the marine environment — the cast-aluminum frame is powder-coated, the speaker terminals are gold-plated, and the cone is made from injection-molded composite. The sub's spider and surround are both made from durable rubber, so they'll resist moisture and damaging sunlight for seasons to come.

Install it almost anywhere

The XS-10FA-S4 works perfectly in a 1.3 cubic foot sealed enclosure, but Wet Sounds designed it for "free-air" applications. That's a very groovy way of saying you don't need to put this sub in a box to get the low-end thump you want. Mount it in a bulkhead, storage compartment, or wherever it fits — you'll be impressed by the sound regardless.

Product Research

Features

Rubber Spider: Durability is improved by the rubber spider Wet Sounds developed for their marine speakers.

Terminals: The wire terminals are gold plated binding posts; they will accept pin connectors, spade lugs, single banana plugs, and bare wire up to 8 gauge. The binding posts are spaced too far apart (approximately 1-1/8") to accept standard dual banana plugs.

Free Air Mounting: The XS-10FA S4 is optimized for Free Air (infinite-baffle) mounting or a 1.3 ft³ sealed enclosure.

Sealed Enclosure: If mounting the subwoofer in an enclosure, use a 1.3 ft³ sealed enclosure. Wet Sounds recommends building the enclosure of marine grade plywood with a minimum thickness of 3/4". Internal bracing should be incorporated so the enclosure is as rigid as possible. All joints should be glued and fastened with screws. Additionally, internal joints should be covered with a small bead of silicone adhesive to ensure the enclosure is completely air-tight. To avoid air leakage, a foam rubber gasket or similar sealing method should be applied between the loudspeaker and the enclosure.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
How long does it take to break in? It isn't hitting very well but likely just because the composite cone is still stiff.

It shouldn't really have a break in time, the one we got sounded great right out of the box. make sure that you have a high quality amp with enough power and a high damping factor for this sub. Remember that the stiffer the cone is the less distortion you get.

I noticed a little change after about an hour of use. However, You really need the max wattage going to it. I've been extremely happy for an open air sub after using the right amp
