Built tough for marine applications

Sound + style

These XS-650-S marine speakers from Wet Sounds give you the sound you crave and the style you like. The bold silver grille makes a powerful statement, while the 6-1/2" composite woofers and titanium tweeters give you powerful sound that cuts through wind and engine noise.

These Wet Sounds speakers aren't just for show, though. They're made for marine use, with strong, durable Nylas™ (a combination of nylon and fiberglass) speaker frames and grilles that are tough enough to withstand the rigors of life on the water. Durable, pliable rubber is used on the spiders, the speaker surrounds, and the protective magnet boot to keep moisture and corrosion from ruining the party. The tweeter's even mounted directly to the grille, eliminating any chance of water getting into the woofer's interior.

These speakers are built for boating, but they're also a great choice if you're outfitting an off-road vehicle that sees frequent use in muddy, dirty, and wet conditions.

These look awesome and are built very well. I haven't hooked them up yet but if build quality is any indication then they will rock.

Great speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 2007 24' boat came standard with 4 speakers. I replaced the Clarion speakers that were original with the boat with XS-650's and paired them with the Wet Sounds HT-6 amp. The last 2 channels are for the tower speakers that are next. However, just changing out the speakers and adding the amp has really improved the sound on the boat. These speakers have great mid-range bass, although I think a sub would be an improvement, they at least carry the lower notes. Huge improvement from the factory speakers.

Pros: Great sound - high and low

Cons: Larger driver (which is a pro) caused some difficulty fitting in existing holes.

Hands down can't be beat

Wet sounds make the best marine products period! Put 6 of these in my boat. Paired with 2 rev410 on SD series amps. Setup is amazing. If you want to be one of the clearest loudest boats pick these over the other options.

Pros: Loud, great quality

Cons: Expensive

Features

Nylas Basket and Grille: Both the speaker frame and grille are made of Nylas, a composite mix of Nylon and Fiberglass, providing strength and stability. The grille is not removable.

Rubber Spider: Durability is further improved by the rubber spider Wet Sounds developed for their marine speakers.

Tweeters: The tweeters are mounted to the grilles, rather than to a pole piece, thus there is no chance of water leaking through the woofer cone.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

Recommended by Crutchfield, was more than I was expecting to spend, but considering that I'm not ready for an amp, this sounded like the best option. I'm anxious to see how well they perform. [ John  Jun 27, 2016 ]
wet sounds always sound great in other boats, so i am giving them a try! [ scott  Jun 18, 2016 ]
Looking for the best sounding waterproof (boating) speaker I could buy. [ Jason  May 18, 2016 ]
These are the best speakers for a boat. Clean sound and can take the abuse in the outdoors. [ Rick  Dec 18, 2015 ]

2 questions already asked

The tweeter is conformed into the grill yes, so here's the sum of it all if it is the grill you wish to remove it can be done by removing the screws on backside but the tweeter will be removed as well :( [ Chris  May 26, 2016 ]
Yes, the grill can be removed with a small Phillips head screw driver. There are roughly 5-6 screws on backside of the grill. Hope this helps with the question [ Chris  May 26, 2016 ]
I do not believe the grill comes off. The tweeter is mounted to it [ John  May 25, 2016 ]
No. It is part of the assembly of the speaker. Plus, it's wetsounds...show them off! [ Jon  May 25, 2016 ]
