View the jagged edges of distant mountains, or get a closer look at the pileated woodpecker chipping away at the maple tree in your front yard with Celestron's COSMOS Tree of Life 10 x 42 binoculars. Their high magnification and close, 6.5-foot focus distance give you a clear, detailed look at objects both far away, as well as those nearby, like the bird feeder on your back porch. With their compact size, plus a waterproof and fogproof design, you can take them along for worry-free viewing just about anywhere.

These binoculars were designed to deliver distortion-free images. Fully multi-coated lenses and phase-coated BaK-4 prisms minimize light loss for greater brightness and contrast. Their 42 mm objective lenses are large enough to gather more light than smaller binoculars, but are still light enough to hold comfortably in your hands for long viewing sessions. Eyeglass wearers can better appreciate the view, too, thanks to twist-up, multi-stop rubber eye cups. The binoculars' non-slip, rubberized exterior and lightweight polycarbonate housing makes them easy to grip, but won't weigh you down. Celestron's rugged, high-quality construction is even backed by a lifetime warranty to ensure long-lasting performance.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love them! Amazingly clear. After a lot of research, these binoculars exceeded my expectations for clarity and ease of use. They do take some steadying due to the magnification specs, but I knew that when purchasing. I wanted to be able to see the birds in my backyard up close and the 8x42's weren't what I was looking for. Highly recommended for the backyard birding enthusiast who wants to see a little more detail to who is visiting. Everyone I have shared these with first comment is "wow". Even my husband who wears glasses was impressed. He stated he has never liked any binocular before and won't use them. Now that he's tried the Celeston's he's gotten an entirely different opinion. Bought my pair at a great price from Crutchfield and the service there was excellent too. I love the Tree of Life logo, (even though I have not watched the Cosmos series).

Pros: Great focus and clarity. Easy to adjust, simply follow the directions included and you are good to go. Design is very nice (I purchased the Tree of Life pair.) Much more pleasant looking than basic black or even the camo. Lens caps fit securely. Focus dial is easy to reach and turn, even with smaller hands.

    Cons: Nothing really.

    Features

Overview: The COSMOS Tree of Life 10x42 binocular by Celestron is a lightweight, waterproof binocular with fully multi-coated optics, that can be used for observing nature and wildlife. The 10x42 model features a desert sand-colored rubber-armored coating for a sure grip, and comes with a neck strap, rain guard, flip-down objective lens caps, and a soft, padded carrying case.

Waterproof: The COSMOS Tree of Life binocular is waterproof, fogproof, and nitrogen purged, allowing you to use them in humid or wet conditions without worry.

BaK-4 Prisms: The high quality BaK-4 prisms are phase coated, which increases contrast and resolution. The binocular includes fully multi-coated optics for great image detail, and brighter images, even in low light.

Focus Knob: The COSMOS Tree of Life binocular has a smooth, central focus knob for bringing your subject into focus.

Tripod Mountable: The 10x42 binocular has built-in threads that allow it to be mounted to a tripod using the optional Tripod Mounting Adapter. The threads can be accessed by removing the logo cap from the front of the hinge.

Diopter Ring: The right eyepiece has a +/-4 diopter ring for adjusting the binocular to your eyesight. A diopter index indicates the "0" position, as well as "+" and "-" positions.

Twist-up Eyecups: The twist-up eyecups accommodate both eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers. For those who don't wear eyeglasses, the eyecups twist counterclockwise to the full up position. For eyeglass wearers, the eyecups provide the widest field of view in the down position. There is also a middle click-stop position, which may suit other users better.
