About the Celestron HD Pro Wedge
Celestron's HD Pro Wedge is perfect for astrophotographers. Stars rotate around the celestial pole, so if you track them with an altazimuth mount the stars will rotate during your exposures, causing them to become blurry over a long exposure. This wedge allows your motorized mount to move more accurately in just a single direction, so you can take clear, steady photos of the night sky. It also offers a latitude range from 0-90°, so it can be used at the equator. Rugged, solid construction keeps vibrations from spoiling your photos.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The Celestron HD Pro Wedge is a heavy duty platform for mounting between fork-mounted CPC telescopes and the tripod. This wedge allows you to tilt the telescope's axis of rotation so the telescope (with its built-in motor drive) can track the stars as they move in an arc around the celestial pole. The HD Pro Wedge provides a stable platform, making it easier to rotate a heavy telescope. It virtually eliminates vibration for better astro-imaging. The wedge comes with mounting hardware and an assortment of Allen wrenches for attaching and adjusting the device.
Latitude Adjustment Screw: The HD Pro Wedge has a large 14mm diameter Latitude Adjustment Screw with an oversized (2.75" diameter) knob for rotating the telescope to the latitude you desire. Having a large diameter adjustment screw adds strength and stability, resists flexing or bending, and prevents vibrations when adjusting a large, heavy telescope.
Latitude Range: The wedge can be configured for two different ranges of latitude. It comes configured for latitudes of 40°-90°. If you are located at a latitude of 40° or below, you'll need to adjust the latitude plates on the side of the wedge. The low range of 0° to 50° can be used all the way south to the equator.
Altitude/Azumuth Controls: To assist you with polar alignment, the HD Pro Wedge includes altitude/azumuth controls with 2" diameter knobs. After loosening the wedge's azimuth plate screws, you can make the final adjustments in azimuth to achieve polar alignment.
Installation: The HD Pro Wedge attaches to the HD tripod using the three supplied socket head bolts. There are two attachment configurations for maximum stability, depending upon whether you're in a lower or higher latitude. Once the wedge is mounted to the tripod, the telescope is mounted to the tilt plate of the wedge.
Hand Control Holder: The CPC telescopes include a computerized hand control, which typically would attach to one of the tripod legs. The HD Pro Wedge, which mounts between the tripod and the telescope, has a built-in holder for the hand control, which positions the hand control in a more convenient and secure place.
