About the Celestron NexImage 5 Solar System Imager
Take astronomy photos the easy way
If you can see a planet in the sky, Celestron's NexImage 5 can photograph it. This device mounts in your telescope's 1.25" focuser and connects to your Windows® PC via USB. Just point your telescope at the Moon or a planet and record a quick video. Included software analyzes each frame of video, throws away the fuzzy ones, and perfectly aligns the remaining images for a bright, detailed color image. The 5-megapixel color image sensor produces clear, low-noise images of solor system objects. The imager features a threaded 1.25" adapter barrel that's compatible with most telescopes.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The Celestron NexImage 5 Solar System Imager connects to your telescope and takes high resolution photos of celestial objects, such as the Moon or planets. It threads onto the supplied machined aluminum 1.25" adapter barrel, and replaces the 1.25" eyepiece on your telescope. The imager connects to your computer via the supplied USB cable, from where it receives power. The package includes iCap capture software and RegiStax stacking software to help you process the images.
Resolution: The NexImage 5 features a 5.7mm x 4.28mm, 5 MP CMOS sensor with a resolution range of 640x480 to 2592x1944, capable of taking high resolution images with stunning detail and color. The sensor is equipped with Micron DigitalClarity technology to dramatically reduce image noise levels.
Process: The NexImage 5's light-sensitive imaging sensor captures streaming video of objects in the solar system. This 30 fps video is comprised of hundreds of individual images or frames, which can be digitally stacked to produce a finely detailed photograph. Stacking composite images helps to reduce noise in single images, and brings out minute details. The software analyzes each frame, removing those that are blurred by variations in the atmosphere, leaving only the clearest frames to be stacked together.
Software: The NexImage 5 includes iCap capture and camera control software and RegiStax stacking software, the same programs that are included with Celestron's high-end Skyris cameras. iCap and RegiStax software are compatible with the following Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).
