About the Audeze Deckard
A versatile headphone amp powerhouse
A versatile headphone amp powerhouse
Since day one we've been totally knocked out by Audeze headphones thanks to their deep, tactile bass, lush mids, and smooth, airy highs. At the same time, we started wondering if they would ever come out with a headphone amp that could do justice to their cans. Well, the wondering is over. The Deckard is here and ready to deliver tunes through your headphones with remarkable punch, warmth, and clarity. This beefy little amp can drive even the best cans with authority and finesse. The Deckard also features a high-resolution DAC with a USB input for stellar sound from your computer.
Top-quality performance from your USB and analog sources
The Deckard handles both analog and digital music sources with the utmost care. Its USB input feeds a high-quality digital-to-analog converter that decodes audio files up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution for clear, precise sound. This allows the Deckard to play both standard and high-resolution music sources without any loss of detail.
Super-clean Class A amplification
The Deckard powers up your music using Class A amplification — an amp design long prized by audiophiles for its tonal purity and open sound. Its 4-watt power rating and 3-position gain switch also means this amp is capable of driving virtually any headphone to high levels with low distortion. Audeze wraps all this goodness in a beautifully built chassis crafted by the BMW Group DesignworksUSA.
Versatile connections for your system
In addition to its outstanding performance with headphones, the Deckard can also double as a preamp to create a simple, high-quality stereo system. Just hook up your PC and a second audio component to its USB and line-level inputs, then connect the Audeze's RCA preamp outputs to the powered speakers, or amp and passive speaker combo of your choice. A front-panel switch lets you choose between sources, while the volume control adjusts signal output to your preferred listening levels — perfect for those times when you need a break from your 'phones.

I purchased the Deckard as part of an entire system. Although I prefer analogue, the Deckard has been solid, certainly improving the sound of the compressed files I have and decoding lossless files without a hiccup. Happy with the build and sound quality.
