Enjoy wireless music from any audio system
If your current music setup sounds pretty great, but you want the ability to play music wirelessly from your phone or tablet, the Phorus PR1 can help. First, hook it up to a receiver or powered speaker system — both a mini-to-mini cable and a mini-to-RCA cable are included. Then, using a Wi-Fi® connection to your home network, you can wirelessly stream the music stored on your phone or DLNA server thanks to a technology called Play-Fi®. The rear USB port, in addition to being a phone charger, can also connect a USB-to-Ethernet adapter for a wired connection to your network. The PR1 is also Bluetooth®-ready, giving you another useful wireless streaming option.
High-quality Play-Fi wireless streaming
Download the free Phorus Play-Fi app to your smartphone or tablet and you're ready to use the PR1. While Play-Fi was originally created as a technology for Android™, it is now also available on iOS® devices. Play-Fi lets you stream high-quality audio from your phone or tablet, including lossless files, over your network connection. The PR1 is DLNA-certified, so you can use your DLNA-compatible Android smartphone, tablet, Windows® PC, or other compatible components on your network. And you're not limited to just what's stored on your devices — stream from online music services like Pandora®, Internet radio stations, and more.
The PR1 connects to your home network via Wi-Fi, allowing you to play music wirelessly from your phone or tablet (including Android) on your existing audio setup.
An easy step into multi-room audio
With Play-Fi, you can create a simple yet flexible multi-room audio system. Want to add a second Phorus device? Just choose "Add Play-Fi Device" from the main menu of the Phorus app and you're there. Instantly you have a second zone to control within the app, and you're filling your home with music. Family members or friends can use their own devices to play music through one or more of the PR1s or Phorus PS1 powered speakers in your home network. Since Play-Fi works on your home network, as long as you are within range of your router, you don't have to hover close to the PR1 while the music plays.
Built-in Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay®
The PS1 has built-in Bluetooth, which means you can listen to the sound from virtually any mobile app, including soundtracks from movie or video apps. It's also AirPlay-compatible, so you can wirelessly stream from your iPhone®, iPod touch®, or iPad®. AirPlay lets you stream music directly from your laptop or desktop computer's iTunes® library too. With both AirPlay and Bluetooth, a guest can quickly pair up their own mobile device and share their music.
