DTS is a recognizable name in home theater sound. Perhaps you've seen their logo at the beginning of a Blu-ray movie, or used their surround setting on your home theater receiver. With the Phorus PS1, they've brought their knack for digital audio to the world of wireless speakers. Though the PS1 is lightweight and small, it puts out full, robust sound. Taking advantage of a dual-core digital signal processor and Class D amplifiers, the speaker produces convincing mids and bass with minimal distortion. DTS created a new technology called Play-Fi, which gives you access to high-quality wireless audio via a Wi-Fi® connection to your network. The PS1 is also Bluetooth-ready, giving you additional wireless flexibility.
High-quality Play-Fi wireless streaming
Download the free Phorus Play-Fi app to your smartphone or tablet and you're ready to use the PS1. While Play-Fi was originally created as a technology for Android™, it is now also available on iOS® devices. Play-Fi lets you stream high-quality audio from your phone or tablet, including lossless files, over your network connection. The PS1 is DLNA-certified, so you can use your DLNA-compatible Android smartphone, tablet, Windows® PC, or other compatible components on your network. And you're not limited to just what's stored on your devices — stream from online music services like Pandora®, Internet radio stations, and more.
An easy step into multi-room audio
With Play-Fi, you can create a simple yet flexible multi-room audio system. Want to add a second Phorus device? Just choose "Add Play-Fi Device" from the main menu of the Phorus app and you're there. Instantly you have a second zone to control within the app, and you're filling your home with music. Family members or friends can use their own devices to play music through one or more of the PS1 or Phorus PR1 receivers in your home network. The PS1 has a convenient dock where most phones or tablets can rest snugly, and can recharge your device via a USB port. But you don't necessarily have to hover close to the PS1 while the music plays. Play-Fi works on your home network, so you'll hear the tunes as long as you are within range of your router.
Built-in Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay®
The PS1 has built-in Bluetooth, which means you can listen to the sound from virtually any mobile app, including soundtracks from movie or video apps. It's also AirPlay-compatible, so you can wirelessly stream from your iPhone®, iPod touch®, or iPad®. AirPlay lets you stream music directly from your laptop or desktop computer's iTunes® library too. With both AirPlay and Bluetooth, a guest can quickly pair up their own mobile device and share their music.

Overview: The Phorus Play-Fi PS1 Speaker allows you to wirelessly stream and listen to music with lossless audio quality from your Apple iOS device, Android smartphone/tablet or Windows computer/laptop using your home's WiFi network. Using WiFi, the PS1 Speaker links to your smartphone device or PC with the free Play-Fi App installed, and outputs music from its built-in speakers. It also supports Bluetooth-enabled devices, as well as Airplay for Windows PC and Mac computer.
Premium Sound: With premium DTS Sound, the PS1 is custom tuned for peak performance. Renowned DTS post processing restores rich details, enhances bass and gets maximum volume from your music. An advanced dual-core DSP, Class-D digital amplifiers, and two neodymium transducers inside a bass reflex enclosure dynamically deliver incredible sound quality at every level.
WiFi Certified: The Phorus PS1 Speaker features built-in WiFi and connects to your home's existing wireless network router. Your router should be WiFi certified (802.11 b/g/n). An 802.11 g/n WiFi router is required for multi-room streaming. An 802.11b WiFi router can stream to one Play-Fi device only.
DTS Play-Fi Wireless Technology: The Phorus PS1 employs DTS Play-Fi Wireless Technology for wireless sound that is reliable and high-quality. The PS1 will stream pure, bit-for-bit, lossless audio, for uncompromised quality sound. The PS1 Speaker supports music formats such as MP3, AAC, FLAC, and WAV; up to 16-bit/48kHz (CD quality sound).
Play-Fi App: The Play-Fi App for Android, Apple iOS, and Windows automatically indexes your music library, and offers integrated support for select streaming music services with crystal-clear lossless audio quality. The app offers built-in streaming options like Pandora, Internet radio, DLNA servers, or play anything from your smartphone's music library; including your playlists.
- Android Play-Fi App: The Play-Fi app for Android requires an Android smartphone with OS 2.2 or above.
- Apple iOS Play-Fi App: The Play-Fi app for Apple iOS requires an Apple iOS device with iOS 6.0 or better.
- Windows Play-Fi App: The Play-Fi app for Windows requires a Windows PC with Windows 7 or 8 (32-/64-bit). There is also an upgraded Play-Fi HD version of the app available for purchase, which provides even better wireless sound quality.
AirPlay for Mac or PC: AirPlay lets you stream music directly from your iTunes library on your Windows PC or Mac computer to the PS1 Speaker system over your home's wireless network connection. By downloading Apple's free Remote App onto your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad you don't even need to be in the same room as the PS1 Speaker or your computer to play, pause, skip, and stop the songs in your iTunes music library. To use the AirPlay feature you need a Mac computer or Windows-based PC running iTunes (10.1 or later) connected to your wireless home network. Your iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad must have iOS 4.3 or later installed, along with the free Remote App installed.
Bluetooth A2DP: In addition to WiFi and AirPlay, the PS1 Speaker also supports wireless audio streaming from Bluetooth-enabled audio devices. Using Bluetooth A2DP, any application on the Bluetooth device, including cloud-based libraries, Internet radio, and other music services can be streamed to the Phorus PS1 Speaker.
Aux Input: In addition to wireless connectivity, the Phorus PS1 Speaker is fitted with a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connection of almost any portable audio player with a headphone output.
Multi-Room Capable: Add more PR1 Receivers and/or multiple PS1 Speakers, and hear music throughout your home or office with perfect synchronization. Stream the same audio to each Play-Fi device or stream different audio to each room for a true multi-room/multi-source experience. You'll get independent volume control of each Play-Fi component from the Phorus Play-Fi app on your Apple iOS/Android smartphone or Windows PC.
USB Charging Port: The PS1 is also capable of recharging the battery of your smartphone or tablet device through the speaker's rear-panel USB (type-A) port. This USB port does not support audio playback.
Integrated Smartphone/Tablet Stand: The Phorus PS1 Speaker features an integrated smartphone/tablet stand which will hold a variety of Apple iOS and Android smartphones and tablets in a landscape or portrait orientation.
AC Power: The Phorus Play-Fi PS1 operates off of standard household current using the included AC power adapter.
