About the IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R155 Monitor Stands
Make your desktop monitors sound their best
Make your desktop monitors sound their best
If you're investing in a nice pair of monitors, why not invest in the stands that ensure their optimal performance?
This pair of IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R155 monitor stands employ the same principles as the best professional studios to simulate speaker "flotation." Thanks to a patented design, the IsoAcoustics stands eliminate the transfer of energy from your speakers to surrounding surfaces, which means you'll hear clean, accurate sound with every listen.
Full tilt boogie
IsoAcoustics makes sure you can aim your speakers for the best possible sound. Each stand comes with two pairs of inserts, two lengths of tubing, and two isolators (one bottom and one top). Choose the right tube length for your workspace and raise your speaker to the appropriate height, either 3" or 8" high, to avoid sound reflection off of adjacent surfaces. Use a combination of the included inserts to get the perfect tilt up or down so that your speakers' tweeters are pointed directly at your ears. The included isolators measure 6" wide by 7-1/2" deep to accommodate speakers at least 6" wide. Use IsoAcoustics' size calculator to confirm these are the right stands for your speakers, or if you have particular speakers in mind, check out IsoAcoustics' reference chart.
Praise for the IsoAcoustics speaker stands from Audiostream
"If you use desktop speakers, you owe it to them, to your ears, and to your music to try the IsoAcoustic speaker stands. If you are currently not using anything, they will elevate the musicality of your speakers by far more than inches, providing greater resolution, improved bass response, and a more focused sound image. They will in short make your speakers more enjoyable to listen to and that is more than worth the price of admission."

Product Research
Features
Overview: The IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R ("isolator") speaker stands are designed to raise your speakers or studio monitors off of the tabletop or floor and angle them toward your ears. The stands have a unique floating design which isolates and decouples the speaker from the mounting surface to eliminate acoustic distortion. The ISO-L8R155s are black in color, and include the parts for 14 different combinations of height and tilt for optimal placement and listening positions.
Application: The ISO-L8R155 Studio Monitor stands are designed for medium-sized studio monitors, bookshelf, and desktop speakers. They should be used with speakers with dimensions greater than 6" wide and 7.5" deep, and weighing up to 30 pounds each.
PIF Principles: IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R stands are designed to support the PIF Principles of acoustic design:
- Placement: The proximity to adjacent and nearby surfaces. The stands raise the speakers off the supporting surface and away from adjacent surfaces to reduce reflections.
- Isolation: The stands decouple the speakers from the supporting surface to reduce the energy from exciting other objects. The speaker is allowed for float independently.
- Focus: By raising and tilting the speakers, the stands create an ideal listening position. The speakers should be tilted to the listeners ear level, and positioned to form an equilateral triangle from the speakers to the listener.
Height/Angle Adjustment: Two lengths of tubing, plus two sets of tube inserts, are included to allow you to adjust the height and angle of the speakers. The rigid steel riser tubes are approximately 5/8" in diameter and come in 3" and 8" lengths. The short tubes should be used for larger speakers, and the long tubes for smaller speakers. The high-density plastic inserts are placed in the ends of the riser tubes to tilt the speakers up to a maximum of 6.5°. The inserts are placed in the rear risers to create a downward tilt or in the front risers for an upward tilt. You can use the short or tall inserts, or both, to obtain the optimal listening angle. The stands can be configured to multiple combinations of heights and angles, from a minimum height of 4.875" (short risers with no inserts used) to a maximum of 9.625" (long risers with both inserts).
Isolator Sections: The stand consists of top and bottom isolator sections, made of high-density plastic, with high-modulus co-polymer isolators on each corner. The combination of isolators and steel tubes significantly absorbs and dissipates the energy coming from the speakers so that it does not travel to the mounting surface. This allows the speaker to "float" independently, eliminating acoustic distortion. Both the base and upper isolator sections are 6.112" wide and 7.49" deep.

Great product. This is my first pair of monitor stands. I formally had my monitors directly on my hardwood desk. I use a pair of Yamaha HS5s with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface.
