About the Audiofrog GS10
A leap ahead of other tweeters
A leap ahead of other tweeters
When Audiofrog demo'd the GS Series at Crutchfield headquarters, I listened, slackjawed, fantasizing about a world where speakers this powerful and clear were installed in my car. But you're the lucky one who's eyeing them now because they fit in your budget for a real-life, custom system. So, what's your grand vision? Pairing them with Audiofrog's GS40 drivers and the GS410C crossover system? Or with the GS60 drivers and the GS610C system? Or into a system with active crossovers? Any of those scenarios will work, and no matter how you slice it, I'm jealous.
Audiofrog was founded by installers, so they've gone overboard to make your custom installation as easy as possible.
The best highs
Audiofrog designed their GS10 tweeter to deliver the high-frequency details in a well-powered, custom component system. The expansive 1" fabric dome delivers highs with a natural, silky, smooth quality, eliminating the distortion and ringing created by some metal and plastic domes. Audiofrog also uses a copper pole piece cap to extend the frequency response and improve the accuracy of this tweeter.
Creative installation
Audiofrog was founded by experienced installers, who know all the pitfalls and shortcuts of tweeter installation. Without a mounting bracket, the GS10 will fit a standard sawhole cut — why hasn't anyone ever done that before? With this tweeter's unique metal mounting bracket, you'll find custom fabrication of pillar and sail panel pods much easier. The bracket's versatile straps provide for numerous installation scenarios as well. Audiofrog's unique spring and nut design for flush-mounting allows you to dial in the speaker's depth for the snuggest fit possible.
Any way you install it, this versatile tweeter gives you the potential to gain the widest possible soundstage for total musical immersion.

Features
Design: Each tweeter uses a 1″ voice coil wound on an aluminum former, immersed in a ferrofluid-filled gap to improve power handling. A copper pole piece cap stabilizes inductance as the coil moves through the magnetic field, reducing distortion and extending high frequency response. An additional bucking magnet above the copper cap increases sensitivity, and a closed cell foam pad above the bucking magnet eliminates reflections between the back of the dome and the motor to smooth the frequency response.
Multi Component Systems: The GS10 tweeters are designed to mate with the GS40 midrange (item number 898GS40, sold separately) using the GS410C passive crossovers (item number 898GS410C, sold separately) or the GS60 woofers (item number 898GS60, sold separately) using the GS610C passive crossovers (item number 898GS610C, sold separately). They can also be used in an active system.
Note: Audiofrog recommends using a high pass crossover no lower than 3.5 kHz with a slope no less than 12 dB/octave.
Screw Terminals: The screw terminals will accommodate up to 14-gauge speaker wire.
Grille: The tweeter grilles are removable and can be painted to match your interior. (Out of the box they're black.)
Mounting Options: The versatile mounting hardware included allows installation in many factory tweeter locations, as well as custom applications:
Mounting Depth | Mounting Height | Frame Diameter | Cutout Diameter | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Flush Mount | 0.770" (1.222" w/ stud bolt) | 0.448" | 2.267" | 1.75" |
Flush Mount w/strap bracket | 0.957" | 0.48" | 2.267" | 1.75" |
Bottom Mount w/strap bracket | 1.350" (minimum) | 0" | 2.267" | N/A |
Power Handling: Audiofrog lists two RMS power figures in the manual; 70 watts RMS in the technical specifications section and 15-75 watts RMS in the recommendations section.

Absolutely love them the tweeters added a certain amount of clarity that was missing. Could it be install or tuning aure but coming from the PHD Fb1.1 tweeter my sound stage is lighter and airy and crisp !
