Overview: The ATH-R70x is Audio-Technica's first pair of professional open-back reference headphones, and, along with the ATH-M70x, are the flagship models in A-T's professional headphone lineup. These over-ear headphones have a natural open-back sound with breathable fabric earpads. They come with a 10' detachable cable and a soft cloth storage pouch.
Drivers: The large 45mm drivers are made with high-efficiency magnets and a pure alloy magnetic circuit design for lower distortion, and a wide, extended frequency range. The drivers are housed in carbon composite resin earcups with an acoustically transparent, aluminum honeycomb-mesh back panel for a natural, open-back sound. In addition to the soft padded earpads, the R70x is equipped with the popular 3D Wing support system for even greater comfort. The headphones are remarkably lightweight--less than 10 ounces with the cable--suitable for long studio sessions.
Cable: The ATH-R70x comes with a unique 10' detachable straight cable with dual plugs that twist-lock into each earcup. The cable is Left/Right signal independent, always ensuring proper stereo orientation, no matter how it's attached. The included screw-on 1/4" (6.3mm) adapter is for use while you're monitoring a professional console or home components with a full-size headphone jack.
