The PEQ hub is the essential first step toward creating your smart home automation system. PEQ's starter kit gives you the hub, which is the brains of the operation, and a door/window sensor. Just hook the hub up to your wireless router, connect the simple open/close sensor to a door or window, and download the PEQ app. Simply by checking your phone, you'll be able to see if the door is open or closed at a glance, and you'll be able to set up email or text notifications so you know right away when the door is opened. It's perfect for keeping tabs on your kids coming home from school, and keeping your house secure throughout the day.

If you have a high-speed Internet connection (approximately 1mbps/750 kbps upload/download), a wireless router and a computer, you have what you need to start a PEQ network. Even better, connecting via your smartphone or tablet — either iOS or Android — opens up a new world of monitoring and control. PEQ's monthly service includes a powerful rules engine that makes it simple to tell devices when to turn on or off, how to work with each other and when and how to contact you. You also can access live video streams from cameras on your system, and capture and store videos and images from your cameras either on demand or based on rules you set. As your home automation needs grow, so can your network of PEQ devices, but your monthly subscription fee will stay the same.
Note: PEQ's no-contract subscription fee is $9.99/month no matter how many modules you add to the system.

Overview: The PĒQ (peek) Starter Kit provides what you need to get up and running with a PĒQ Home Automation System. The kit includes the PĒQ Hub and a Door & Window Sensor. You can add cameras, thermostats, and other sensors and modules to create as large a system as you desire.
PĒQ Home Automation: The PĒQ Home Automation System is a convenient way of controlling and monitoring your home wirelessly from a single, easy app. The system is anchored by the PĒQ Hub, which syncs with your wireless router, and talks to all of the PĒQ devices in your home. Using the PĒQ app on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, you can set up each device, and control it to suit your lifestyle. Available devices include door and window sensors, appliance and lamp modules, motion, water, and carbon monoxide sensors, cameras, and a thermostat. A high-speed internet connection (minimum 1 Mbps/750 kbps upload/download speed recommended), a wireless router, and a computer are needed to get started. Using PĒQ with a tablet and/or smartphone (iOS or Android) is recommended for the best experience. The PĒQ service is available by subscription for $9.99 a month.
PĒQ Hub: The Hub is the brains of the PĒQ system. Using the PEQ app on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, you can monitor and control your home. The Dashboard lets you name and configure devices, and create custom rules on how the devices work and interact with each other. The Hub connects to your home network via Ethernet (cable included) or wirelessly (802.11n Wi-Fi certified). It communicates with the sensors and modules via ZigBee protocol. Two RJ45 Ethernet ports (WAN and LAN) and one USB (Type A) port are provided. The Hub also has LED indicators for power, server status, Wi-Fi status, and device status.
Door & Window Sensor: The included Door & Window Sensor can be used to protect doors, windows, cabinets, drawers, and cupboards. Installing the sensor simply involves attaching the sensor and magnet so that the circular dots on the sides are in alignment. You can use the dual-sided adhesive or the screw hardware provided. As the door/window is opened, the sensor and magnet separate, and a signal is sent to the Hub. When the magnet and sensor are realigned, the sensor sends a signal to the Hub that the door/window is closed.
Typical Uses: The PĒQ Door & Window Sensor can be used in the following ways:
- Monitor the current status of the particular door, window, cabinet, or drawer
- Set a rule to notify you by email or text that the door/window has been opened or closed at any time, or while you're on vacation (Vacation Mode).
- Set a rule to notify you if a door was opened within a specified time span (alert you that the kids are home from school).
- Set a rule to turn on a light when you open a door. The system will turn on a light* in a room automatically when you open a door and enter a room after dark. *Requires a PĒQ Lamp Module
