About the FUSION FM-504
Big performance from a tough amp
Big performance from a tough amp
FUSION's FM Series marine amplifiers are powerful enough to bring out the best in your music and tough enough to keep out the damaging moisture that turns lesser audio equipment into ballast. The carefully engineered heat sink keeps temperatures under control, even during hard use, while a special cooling system keeps damaging heat away from the semiconductors. FUSION's Regulated Amp Technology ensures that you get all the power you want without using up voltage you need for other things.
Plenty of power for speakers and subs
FUSION's FM-504 4-channel amplifier will deliver 65 watts RMS each to two pairs of speakers, or send 200 watts each to a pair of subs. You can also switch to 3-channel mode to drive a pair of speakers and a sub. Whatever the job, you can adjust the high- and low-pass filters to maximize your system's performance. These amps use heat-tempered, conformal coated circuit boards for durability and gold-plated connectors for consistent signal flow, giving you all the clean power you need to make a day on the water sound like a night at a music hall.

Controls
Controls: The front and rear sections of the amplifier have independent controls:
- Level (Gain): The input gain (rotary control) is adjustable from 300 mV to 8 V to match the output voltage of the source unit.
- Subsonic: The subsonic filter (rotary control) frequency is continuously variable from 20 Hz to 55 Hz and the slope is 18 dB/octave. The purpose of a subsonic filter is to remove extremely low frequencies that can't be accurately reproduced by the speakers, and may cause distortion.
- Bass Boost: A rotary control allows increasing the bass output; it's continuously variable from zero to +18dB and centered at 45 Hz.
- High Pass Frequency: When the high pass crossover is engaged, the frequency is continuously variable from 40 Hz to 600 Hz. The crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.
- Low Pass Frequency: When the low pass crossover is engaged, the frequency is continuously variable from 40 Hz to 160 Hz. The crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.
- X-Over Selector: A three position switch specifies the crossover mode; select Low Pass, High Pass or Off (full range).
Connections
Power/Ground/Turn-On: The amplifier features set-screw terminals for the power, ground, and remote turn-on connections:
- Power and Ground: set-screw; accept up to 4-gauge wire (4-gauge power and ground wires are recommended); a 4mm Allen wrench (not included) is necessary to make the connections
- Remote Turn-On: set-screw; accepts up to 10-gauge wire; a 2.5mm Allen wrench (not included) is necessary to make the connections
Speaker Output: The speaker output terminal strip will accommodate spade connectors or ring terminals up to 0.335" wide.
Preamp Inputs: The FM-504 features two pair of RCA input jacks, front and rear.
Preamp Outputs: One pair of RCA pass-through preamp outputs make it easy to connect a second amplifier without running another cable to the source unit. The outputs are summed from the front and rear inputs, and are not affected by the FM-504's gain, bass boost, or crossover settings.
