Use the FUSION-Link app to control it from your phone.

Connect to a wide variety of devices

The MS-RA70N can handle all your entertainment and communications needs when you're out on the water. In addition to working with an incredible variety of wired and wireless devices, you can connect this highly-advanced receiver to your NMEA 2000 network so it can talk with chart plotters, navigation instruments, depth sounders, and other compatible devices.

Use your phone as a remote

You can enjoy your favorite AM/FM stations or connect an MP3 player to the USB port, of course, but you'll really appreciate this receiver's wireless Bluetooth® connectivity. Just download the free Apple® or Android™ FUSION-Link remote control app for Bluetooth from iTunes™ or Google Play™. With the app installed, you can use your phone to control source navigation and track selection from wherever you are on your boat or in your campsite. Intuitive controls make it easier to manage your music when you're underway.

Get into a zone on your boat

Independent audio zone control is a handy thing to have on any boat. The MS-RA70N offers advanced localized menu controls, including zone naming, so you'll be able to customize and control the listening experience in each zone. (Note: You'll need an additional amplifier for the Line Out and Sub Out linked to Zone 1.)

Built to survive in tough conditions

The 2" tall chassis means you can install the MS-RA70N in a wide variety of dashboards. The designers came up with a clever solution that lets you mount the stereo in the dash or integrate it into a glass helm using a flush surface mount. Wherever it winds up, this rugged receiver will stand up to whatever wind and weather Mother Nature brews up.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

NMEA 2000 note: To learn more about NMEA 2000 connectivity, check out our article explaining nautical networking.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

This marine digital media receiver will not play CDs.

    Marine Features

DIN-Sized Marine Receiver: The Fusion MS-RA70N marine receiver has been engineered to seamlessly replace a standard "DIN-sized" stereo in your boat, vessel, or watercraft without the need to reconfigure or modify the cutout opening. Four screws (supplied) fasten the receiver's faceplate and gasket against the mounting surface on either side of the cutout opening to secure the unit in place. If your boat does not already have a cutout opening for a "DIN-sized" radio, then the MS-RA70N will require a rectangular cutout in the bulkhead for inserting the chassis. You can even remove the receiver's pre-installed trim-ring and flush mount the receiver for a stunning glass helm finish.

    • Chassis or Cutout Width = 6.375"
    • Chassis or Cutout Height = 1.9375"
    • Cutout Depth = 4.0"
    • Nose Width = 7.4375"
    • Nose Height =  2.375"
    • Nose Depth = 1.0"
    • Screw Hole Spacing = 6.8125" (w) x 1.5625" (h)
Note: Even though this marine receiver is considered "DIN-sized", it does not include a mounting sleeve or ISO-mount screw holes to accommodate standard automotive installation.

Marine Certified: Marine Certified: The Fusion MS-RA70N is designed and engineered specifically for use on the water, and complies with both IPx3 & iPx7 water resistant standards.

    • iPx3 Glass-Filled Composite Chassis: Structurally rigid and incredibly lightweight, the unit's glass-filled composite chassis improves environmental protection and electrically isolates the chassis for complete reliability with an iPx3 rating. The receiver's chassis also features an aluminum side-fin heat sink with VCT cooling, removing the need for an external cooling fan.
    • iPx7 Front-Panel & Optically Bonded LCD: With an IPx7 front-panel and an optically bonded LCD to improve durability and optimize daylight viewing, the MS-RA70N is ready for the marine environment. You can adjust the brightness & contrast of the LCD. The LCD screen's backlight turns offs after approximately 60 seconds of inactivity to reduce battery drain; press any key on the unit to restore the backlight.

NMEA 2000 Certified w/ Fusion-Link: The MS-RA70N is a Fusion-Link Wired NMEA 2000 certified product and is compatible with a range of the world's leading Multi-Function Displays (MFD) for on-screen audio control; creating a centralized control station for the entire vessel and a more user-friendly experience. NMEA 2000 is the most popular marine standard for data communication within vessels. When pairing the MS-RA70N with a NMEA 2000 supported Chartplotter or Fish finder, you bring your music to the big screen, allowing you to keep an eye on the charts or the fish while skipping tracks or adjusting the volume at the same time.

Optional Wired Remote Control: In addition to MFD control, the MS-RA70N will connect to Fusion's MS-NRX300 Wired Remote (917NRX300, sold separately) within the same powered NMEA 2000 network for localized control of the audio zones. You can install a MS-NRX300 wired remote in each of the independent audio zones of your vessel, for localized zone volume level and global source control. Control each audio zone independently from multiple remotes, or manage the entire entertainment experience from a single remote control. The remote control can even serve as an NMEA 2000 display showing NMEA navigation data or vessel performance data from other NMEA devices on the same NMEA 2000 network. Up to three MS-NRX300 wired remotes can be connected to the MS-RA70N with the same powered NMEA 2000 network.

Note: The MS-NRX300 must be incorporated onto the same NMEA 2000 powered network as the MS-RA70N.

    Q
Can I play audio from my computer through this stereo's USB port?
    patrick  Nov 24, 2016
    1 answer
    A
From what I can tell, it will only recognize audio files and not an audio stream which is what your computer would be trying to send to its USB port. I do not expect that to work. I'd plan on using the aux input on this radio to get the audio into it. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

Can this power a fusion-only remote control connection in a boat that doesn't have an existing NMEA 2000 network? I assume I would need the cab000862 powered drop cable to do so.

Due to the detailed nature of your question, I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat via the Contact Us link at the top right of the webpage. They can give you more specific information on the compatibility of this Fusion unit & NMEA 2000 in conjunction with your existing equipment. I hope that helps. Will the Fusion MS-RA70N work with my Ipod Classic?
    john b  May 20, 2016

It has a USB port on the rear which should work with your iPod. I have used with my iPhone and it reads iPod on the screen.

    Is this satellite radio ready/compatible?

It is not satellite ready, it does have AUX input so you could get a satellite tuner and input through the aux. The radio app for your smart phone and ability to be controlled from a NMEA 2000 MFD really work well.
