Auralex MoPAD-XL monitor isolation pads keep vibration at bay for better sound from your system.

Instantly improve your speakers' sound

Did you know that vibration transferred from your loudspeakers through your desktop or workstation and your electronics can degrade sound quality? Well, we've found an easy, inexpensive solution: Isolate your speakers from their environment with the Auralex MoPAD-XL monitor isolation pads. Placed under your speakers, these stiff foam pads will decouple your speakers from whatever surface they're sitting on, instantly resulting in purer, more accurate sound. You'll hear greater bass definition, and crisper, cleaner mids and highs.

MoPAD-XLs are just as effective for home speakers as they are for studio monitors. Plus, they can even be used to decouple virtually any electronic device such as laptops or DVD players from the surface they rest on, for better performance.

Choose from 5 listening angles

The MoPAD-XLs include foam wedge adjusters that allow you to tilt your speakers from +8º to -8º to achieve the perfect listening angle. Turning the wedges face down allows the speaker to be set flat.

One MoPAD-XL should be placed under each speaker toward the center for optimum stability. For larger speakers, or monitors placed on their sides, two pads should be used for each speaker. Each MoPAD-XL isolation pad is capable of supporting up to 100 pounds. A pair will support a horizontally positioned speaker up to 200 pounds.

Q
I have a pair of ND310's that weigh in at 55-60 lbs each & was wondering if they would flatten these pads? If so, what type of pads would one recommend to handle the weight?

Greetings Curtis, and thank you for your question. The pads support up to 100 pounds each pad. Its looking like you are well under that. Of course there will be a slight bit of compression, but you are well under their ratings.

I have vintage, restored Infinity RS111b tower speakers that sound fabulous. these are 67 lbs each, 48"high,18"wide, 7"deep monoliths that use an inclined wooden base screwed into the speaker bottom for time allignment . These are 3 way full ranges speakers (2x10" polypropylene woofers, 1x3" polydome midrange, and 1x 2" EMIT planar ribbon tweeter. They sit on a near room width 1/2 inch pile area rug plus perforated rubber liner underneath, ultimately covering bamboo hardwood floor. It a fairly large room. The speakers are aroud 4 ft. from the rear wall and 2 ft. from the side wall, and have plenty of room to breath and create a fine soundstage with sparkling highs and shimmering cymbols. Driven with an modified Aragon 4004 MkII , there is plenty of power for stable, musically textured authoritative bass with plenty of slam when called for, No boom and sizzle here. My question is will these pads be likely to further define and resolve the bass even more, and perhaps improve the mids and highs to a cleaner more elegant and resolved state as well?

No, 67 lbs would literally flatten these pads. They are only made of foam. Don't waste your money on these because they will not accept that amount of weight.

Hello, These pads will not handle the size and weight of your speakers. You really need the Auaralex ProPad. They're more expensive but MUCH more geared towards tower speakers. I currently have the MoPAD XL for my Dynaudio Evoke 10's and they are great as I have them for my rears on corner shelves and I use the foam to angle them downward. Works great. I used to use the ProPad for my previous Dynaudio Excite X38's before I moved and upgraded to Evoke 50's and truly thought they helped tighten up the bass response. Hope this helps...

They claim they will , couldn't hurt plus you can get a slight tilt up which is good Enter

Do not have an answer for you on that. I bought these to isolate my bookshelf speakers from the turntable and help angle down the speakers. I can't see or hear a difference in the tone output. Not a lot of help here but truthful answer.
