USB Port: The iRV6500BT's front-panel USB (type-A) port supports playback of MP3/WMA music files, MP4 video files, and JPEG photo files stored on a USB mass storage class device, like your USB thumbdrive (up to 1TB). Your USB thumbdrive must be formatted in FAT or FAT32. Photos and video will be played back on a connected external monitor (sold separately). The unit's USB port (5V/0.5A) will also charge many USB-enabled devices.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The unit features built-in Bluetooth (v2.0), so you can wirelessly stream stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet (like Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad or Android) to the iRV6500BT. From the iRV6500BT's front-panel controls, you can operate basic playback functions such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track. Advanced music navigation and song/artist information is still done from your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device.

Note: This unit does not support Bluetooth hands-free phone communication. This unit may not be compatible with all Bluetooth audio devices.

AV Input: The iRV6500BT is outfitted with a front-panel AV input which consists of a 3.5mm minijack. This allows connection of an external portable audio/video device. A minijack-to-RCA adapter cable is provided for added convenience. Audio is heard through the speakers connected to the iRV6500BT, while video is seen through an external monitor (sold separately) you have connected to the iRV6500BT.

Dual Composite Video Outputs: The unit's dual composite video outputs allow you to playback video from the iRV6500BT's built-in disc player, USB port, SD-card slot, or AV input on an external monitor (sold separately). The two composite video outputs share a stereo RCA output.

AM/FM Tuner: The unit's built-in AM/FM tuner provides 3 FM bands and 2 AM bands. Each band can be manually or auto programmed with 8 stations presets; giving you a total of 24 FM presets and 16 AM presets. The unit also offers manual tuning, seek tuning, and preset scan.  You can select "Local" tuning in areas with strong signals to let the radio stop at only strong stations during manual tuning. Select "Distant" tuning in area with weak signal to listen to all stations. When reception of an FM station is week, listening quality can be improved by switching to "Mono" mode. The unit can be switched to USA or European tuning.

3 Speaker Zones: The iRV6500VT provides 3 stereo speaker zones. 45 watts (peak) x 6 channels is distributed between the zones. You can listen to all zones or turn on only one or two of the zones. The same source will be played back in each zone and the volume level is the same for each zone. The head unit is also fitted with a 2Ch/2V RCA output for adding an external amplifier.

  • EQ Modes: The unit offers preset EQ modes to tailor the sound to your type of music and taste. Choose from Flat, Classic, Pop, Rock, or Off.
  • Bass & Treble: When the preset EQ mode is set to "Off", you can adjust the head unit's bass & treble manually (-10 to +10).
  • Loudness: The Loudness function enhances the unit's bass & treble at lower volumes.
  • Key Beep: A beep sound indicates button operation. This can be turned on or off.

Q
what is the signal to noise ratio and T.H.D. on the irv6500bt? Can't find that spec anywhere.
kay  May 01, 2021
1 answer
A
StN= >60dB on CD/MP-3/WMA, StN=50dB on tuner, frequency response= 20Hz-20kHz on player. Don't see T.H.D. in the specs.
andrew  May 05, 2021
Q
Why does it come on by it self why does it come on by it self?
alvin  Mar 23, 2021
1 answer
A
I've not had this happen but also haven't had it in very long. The remote is Infra Red so perhaps look at other sources for interruption. IR is extremely sensitive to bright lights as in the sun, flashes, and these types of light. Also check remote batteries as well as your rig's power supply, losing power like would happen with a surge could trigger the stereo to wake up. Good luck.

Lost the remote for my iRV6500BT can I replace it and how? CR2025 3V
bob  Sep 17, 2018
1 answer
A
We don't carry it as a replacement part and also don't know if one can be purchased for it. I do know you have the correct model for the remote that came included and I have a customer support number of 781-281-9440 that might be able to give you a lead on getting that remote. Can I hook a tv to this so the sounds will come through my rv speakers?
lori  Jun 30, 2018

A
The iRV6500BT provides a front panel A/V input and a rear panel audio input so, if your TV offers an analog audio output, yes, you can connect it to one of the inputs and hear it play through the connected speakers. I see in the specs that the power for this unit is 45 watts x 6. Does this mean that each individual channel is receiving 45 watts or is the wattage divided between the channels? 45/6 = 7.5 watts/ channel.
ricky  Dec 15, 2017

A
The built-in amp is rated to produce 45 watts x 6 channels; so it can power (up to) 6 speakers with 45 watts per speaker. Hope that helps!

Q
Is there any way to add a sleep time on this? I like to play the radio as I go to sleep, but would like it to turn off in an hour or so.
rick  Mar 24, 2017
1 answer
A
The DVD receiver does not offer a sleep timer or a way to add one with a separate accessory. If you're connecting it to an external TV/monitor, it may have a sleep timer you can use for the display but the stereo will not power off when the TV/monitor does.
