Remote start your vehicle — precool in summer, preheat in winter

Choosing the right remote start system and installing it in your vehicle has become a lot simpler and more affordable with this all-in-one Fortin EVO-Series package. The EVO-FOR.T1 system includes a digital interface module, which bypasses your vehicle's immobilizer circuits so you can start it without a key, and a T-harness that'll connect the module to your specific vehicle. In addition to the Ford harness, the module comes pre-programmed for your vehicle right out of the box.

Vehicle-specific harness simplifies the installation

While not quite plug-and-play, the harness connections cut down installation time considerably, so you do-it-yourselfers out there can save a little money. Fortin includes a code on the package that you use on their website to download and print detailed, illustrated instructions for your installation. In addition, Crutchfield offers free lifetime tech support, via our toll-free telephone number, to help ensure your remote start installation goes smoothly.

Use your factory remote

You start your vehicle by pressing the lock button on your factory key three times. This system lets you start your car from as far away as the key will lock and unlock your doors. Note: This feature works on most vehicles, but in certain select vehicles, the factory key won't work with this remote start system and an RF kit will be required for installation. Please contact us for more details.

Optional RF remotes increase the range

If you want to be able to start your car from inside your home or office, for instance, you can extend your range by simply plugging in one of these RF remote kits to the interface module.

Fortin RF641W 1-way, 4-button RF remote kit, 1500-foot range ($80)

Fortin RF642W 2-way, 4-button RF remote kit, 2500-foot range ($120)

Each RF kit contains two remote controls, an antenna module, and harness. Both kits let you remotely lock and unlock the doors, pop open the trunk, and perform other functions in addition to starting your engine.

Integrates with your factory security system too

The EVO-FOR.T1 also gives you control over your vehicle's factory security system's basic functions like horn-honking, light-flashing, and door-locking, giving you a little peace of mind when you get into your running car.

IMPORTANT:
Customers who want to configure Run Time or adjust advanced features will need to purchase a Fortin FLU-100.2 Flash Link Updater.

If you know how to use a multimeter and have experience working with your vehicle's electrical system, you should be able to install this remote start system yourself. If not, please consider having your system professionally installed.

To ensure vehicle compatibility, please enter your vehicle information. Your order will be reviewed by our Car Experts group, who will contact you if further information or recommended accessories are needed.

Features

Overview: The Fortin EVO-FOR.T1 is a combo package containing the EVO-ALL, an all-in-one data immobilizer bypass, door lock, alarm, and remote start interface module, along with the THAR-FOR1 T-Harness for select Ford and Mazda vehicles. The EVO-ALL and T-harness are designed to greatly shorten the installation time of the remote start/security system in those vehicles by making many of the connections via direct plug-in harnesses.

Note: This is a complex product, and it is recommended that installation is performed by a professional installer or experienced do-it-yourselfer.

Compatibility: The EVO-FOR.T1 is currently compatible with some 110 vehicles, including select 2007-17 Ford C-Max Hybrid, Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, Fiesta, Flex, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Taurus, Transit, and Transit Connect; and 2008-11 Mazda Tribute. Click here to see if your vehicle is compatible.

User Interface: The EVO-FOR.T1 offers three different ways to start the vehicle or control the built-in alarm system:

  • Using the OEM remote
  • Working with compatible long-range RF remote kits, such as the RF641W or RF642W.
  • Through compatible smartphone modules (such as Viper SmartStart Compustar Drone and more).
Note: Two valid functioning keys are required to complete the installation and program this unit to the vehicle.

Included Harnesses: The EVO-FOR.T1 includes a pre-wired harness with multiple plugs on each end that connect to the EVO-ALL module and the vehicle's OEM wiring. An activation key to WireColor.com is included for a free vehicle wire color diagram.

Q
I have a four button key fob. Do I have to use the lock button or cane I use the forth button to activate the remote start?

A
My model used three pushed of the lock button to activate the remote start procedure.
scott  Jan 25, 2017
A
What make and model vehicle you have, this would help. But however I have a ford edge which has 3 buttons one for panic, and if I use the key fob I'll press the lock button 2 times to initiate the sequence. Now depending on the vehicle you have the kit you ordered would tell you what buttons to press to activate the remote start. Another option is to give fortin a call they are very helpful, I can vouch for them.

Q
Is this compatible with a diesel?

Yes that module is diesel compatible. My friend owns a stereo shop and has looked at mine and he is ordering another module to ensure the fit to my 2012 Ford F-350 powerstroke to install it next week
clint  Dec 16, 2016
A
All the information I was provided by Fortin, it will work with both gas and diesel. They are suggesting that it does require automatic transmission for obvious reasons.
scott  Dec 16, 2016
Q
My factory key only has lock, unlock, and panic buttons. How will this system use those buttons to start remotely? Thank you.

You just have to press your lock button 3 times to start. Just be sure you get the programmer as well, you will have to change a few settings and program it to your vehicle.

You reprogram the remotes, then you would use the lock button. Pressing it three times to engage the remote start. Same to disengage it if you wanted to.
