Features
Overview: The Memphis Xtreme Audio MXA5.750 is a full range Class D MXA-series 5-channel amplifier for your vehicle, ATV, or boat. The amp features coated circuit boards, making it water-resistant and UV-resistant in extreme environments. The MXA5.750 comes with a multi-zone Remote Level Control, and mounting hardware.
Output Power: The MXA5.750 outputs 80 watts RMS x 4 channels + 200 watts RMS x 1 channel at 4Ω, 120 watts RMS x 4 channels + 350 watts RMS x 1 channel at 2Ω, and 240 watts RMS x 2 channels at 4Ω bridged.
Multi-Zone Remote Level Control: Included with the amplifier is a 5-channel Remote Level control module, which mounts near the driver's seat or helm, and allows you to adjust the output of the amplifier by varying the gain of the input signal. There are three knobs on the module for adjusting the two full-range zones (front + rear or cabin + tower), and the subwoofer. The Remote Level control comes with an 16.25' cable.
Controls: The amplifier features a removable clear plastic cover on one end to protect the controls from the elements. The rotary controls can be adjusted with a flat-head screwdriver (not included). The amp has independent controls for the front (Ch 1&2), rear (Ch 3&4), and subwoofer (Ch 5) channels:
- Channels 1/2 and 3/4:
- Gain: The Gain (or Input Sensitivity) Control helps you match the amplifier to the output of the source unit. This adjusts the amount of signal required to drive the amplifier to full output. The amp will accept low-level signals between 0.2V and 5.0V.
- HPF: Each pair of channels has a high-pass filter with a rotary control. You can set the cutoff frequency between 10Hz and 150 Hz. If driving full-range speakers, the HPF can filter out frequencies that will be directed to the subwoofer. If bridging the speaker pairs, the HPF can be used as a subsonic filter to eliminate super low frequencies not easily reproduced by a subwoofer.
- Channel 5:
- Gain: Like the controls for Channels 1/2 and 3/4, the Channel 5 Gain control can be varied between 0.2V and 5.0V.
- LPF: The Low Pass Filter control lets you set the cutoff frequency between 40Hz and 150Hz. This sets the upper frequency range for the subwoofer channel's output.
- Subsonic: The Subsonic Filter eliminates very low frequencies that a speaker cannot easily reproduce. This rotary control is variable from 15Hz to 55Hz.
- Bass EQ: The Bass EQ control is a 0dB-12dB bass boost centered at 45Hz.
- Input Mode: The 3-way Mode switch lets you determine the input source for all channels of the amplifier. The switch has settings for 2CH, 4CH, and 5CH.
Connections: The MXA5.750 has the following connections:
- Inputs: The amp has three pairs of RCA jacks for connecting the source unit via RCA cables.
- Power/Ground: Set screw terminals are provided for connecting power (up to 4 gauge), ground (up to 4 gauge), and remote turn-on lead (10 gauge). A 4-gauge amplifier wiring kit is recommended, and an 80A fuse should be placed on the power wire within 18" of the battery. The terminals can be tightened/loosened with the supplied 4mm and 2mm Allen wrenches.
- Speaker Output: Set screw terminals are provided for connecting five pairs of speakers to the amplifier. The terminals will accept up to 10 gauge wire.
Mounting: The MXA5.750 can be mounted in the hatch or trunk, or under the seat of a vehicle. Under the seat of a boat or ATV is also acceptable. It should be mounted in a location that avoids direct contact with water. The amp can be installed horizontally or vertically.
