About the Helix Esprit E10W
Thin is in
Thin is in
Helix builds their Esprit subwoofers to fit in places that normal subs won't. Coming in at just 3-1/8" deep, the Esprit E10W 10" shallow-mount sub lets you get creative with placement while giving you impressive bass. German engineering shines through on this sub, as Helix uses technology from their high-end Precision Series to create a super-slim driver that delivers superior performance and handles plenty of power. You'll enjoy highly accurate bass reproduction in applications where space is an issue.
Built for fidelity and performance
You can drive this sub hard, and the rigid fiberglass-coated, honeycomb membrane cone will still maintain its shape, so your bass stays true. Power handling is also enhanced by a large rubber surround that helps keep the cone under control, as well as a sturdy die-cast aluminum basket that provides a non-resonant, stable platform. You can wire this dual-voice-coil sub for 4-ohm or 1-ohm impedance, which gives you a little more flexibility as your system changes.

Enclosure Compatibility
Features
Cone Design: The woofer uses a Honeycomb cone membrane coated with fiberglass. The rubber surround is resistant to UV rays for added durability.
Dual 2-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2-ohm voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel the woofer presents a 1-ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series the woofer presents a 4-ohm load.
Cast Aluminum Basket: The die-cast aluminum basket resists flexing and resonance (ringing).
Terminals: The woofer features two pair of spring post terminals. They accept pin connectors or bare wire up to 10-gauge.
Enclosure Compatibility
Sealed Box: For the best sound quality when you're short on space, use a sealed enclosure; the optimum internal volume is 0.75 cubic foot. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.
Ported Box: The recommended ported box has an internal volume of 1.5 cubic feet with a 4" diameter x 13" long port tube, giving a tuning frequency of 40 Hz. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power.
