About the Helix Precision P8W
High-end bass
High-end bass
Are you building a reference-level system in your vehicle? Helix created their Precision Series subwoofers for the mobile audiophile. Built from hand-picked components and assembled in Germany, these subs will create detailed low-end that perfectly complements a high-performance speaker system. From the tight, plucky punch of a bass guitar to the solid "thunk" of a kick drum, you'll be in sonic heaven with these subs.
Built tough
Helix was thinking a little outside the box when they designed the Precision P8W 8" subwoofer. They used Agave sisalana, an incredibly stiff natural fiber, coated in silk to create a lightweight, rigid cone that reproduces low frequencies with unerring accuracy. Combine this unorthodox cone with a seriously oversized voice coil, and you have a woofer that will handle up to 250 watts RMS without breaking a sweat. A big rubber surround takes a lot of abuse, while the die-cast aluminum basket won't add a hint of coloration to your bass. Don't be afraid to turn this sub up. For best results, mount this subwoofer in a ported enclosure.

Enclosure Compatibility
Features
Cone Design: The woofer uses a rigid sisal fiber cone with a durable rubber surround. The mechanical advantages of sisal, rigidity and inner damping, result in faster transients and precise detail.
Cast Aluminum Basket: The die-cast aluminum basket resists flexing and resonance (ringing).
Terminals: The woofer features a pair of spring post terminals. They accept pin connectors or bare wire up to 10-gauge.
Enclosure Compatibility
Sealed Box: Although designed for a ported enclosure, the P8W subwoofer can also be used in a sealed enclosure. The optimum internal volume is 0.28 cubic foot. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.
Ported Box: The recommended ported box has an internal volume of 0.48 cubic feet with a 3" diameter x 5" long port tube, giving a tuning frequency of 80 Hz and a -3dB point of 68 Hz. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power.
Bandpass Box: When using a bandpass enclosure, the sealed rear chamber should be 0.58 cubic feet and the ported front chamber should be 0.26 cubic feet with a 2-3/4" diameter x 5-2/3" long port.

At first I thought, hmmm Helix??? This guy is trying to sell me some cheap off brand stuff. I was WRONG, from the first hit of bass the sound was deeper and tighter than my old sub-woofer and that was a good sounding speaker. This one is just better.
