I read where someone mounted it upside down (turn it 180 degrees) and it worked great. I turned mine and they were right. Works great upside down. Looks weird, but at least I don't have to reach all the way to radio to make adjustments. Also noticed that it only works in about a 60 degree window. Move steering wheel to far to left (top) or to right (bottom) and remote does not funtion. Pros: Hands get to stay on steering wheel. Cons: Have to learn functions upside down. Ok as long as you don't have to read! Was this review helpful? Yes | No 1 out of 5 Pioneer CD-SR100 Written By Blake, Carrabelle, FL on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 Read the previous reviews on this and figured I would take the chance because I liked the idea that this controller would give me much more function control of my stereo than my factory steering wheel radio controls. It did not work for me at all. If I pointed the remote at the radio while in my hand it worked great but when attached to the steering wheel - nothing. The radio in my Tundra is slightly recessed but not enough to think it wouldn't work at least most of the time. I tried every position I could on the steering wheel along with turning it upside down like one previous reviewer stated with no luck. The stereo already came with a handheld remote so back to Crutchfield it went for the PAC SWI-PS steering wheel control adapter. Now my factory steering controls are running my stereo like it was still the old one. Don't waste your time on this remote. Pros: None since it did not do what it was supposed to. Cons: Did not work. If your radio is set into your dash at all this probably will not work for you. Was this review helpful? I mounted this thing in every conceivable location on the steering wheel and it just doesn't work. A wast of your money. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Picture is not same as product, instead of one large strap there are two small ones. It takes some effort to pull the straps thru for a snug fit and then the challenge is to tuck them into the holder to get them out of the way. I have the hand held remote for my Pioneer DEH P3800 MP and it works fine. I wanted a steering wheel remote to make it a no look option. This remote is marginal since it is not consistent in communicating with the radio even though it is just 2 feet from it. Was this review helpful? Simply pull the battery tab and it synced right up with my avh-p4300dvd. I put it at the 3 oclock position and i love it for the price. Thanks alot Crutchfield!! Was this review helpful? Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 great addition Written By Mitch, Atlanta, GA on Friday, April 29, 2011 I got this unit to work with a newly installed stereo (DEH-P6200BT) in my 1994 Nissan pickup. It worked perfectly for me & I'm glad I have it. In addition to basic functions, I can also use it to answer incoming calls via the Pioneer's bluetooth phone feature for even better "hands-free" operation. Some have complained about the design of the Pioneer multi-control knob and I see what they are referring to, but this steering wheel remote sort of helps with this issue as numerous functions can be performed directly from this steering wheel instead of messing with the multi-control knob on the head unit. Since my truck is pretty old (1994) and pretty basic, I just assumed there was no way to have any kind of steering wheel controls, but this unit made it possible. Also, I can easily take it off if needed & if I want to put it into another vehicle. I also suggest getting a steering wheel cover of some sort. I did this and it helps conceal the SR100's attachment straps which then make it more comfortable to drive & turn the wheel. Also protects the attachment strap from possible sun damege. A wheel cover can be picked up at Target/Walmart for about $10-15. As usual, Crutchfield support is top notch. Thanks 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? The previous mentioned issue of the locking tab not engaging fully on the remote was cured by putting some folded paper under the tab. Otherwise an excellent remote to keep you from having to take your eyes off the road to adjust you r head unit. 1 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
