The Sony KDL-52V4100 has full 1080p resolution, and on a screen this large, you need 1080p to see the extraordinary clarity and detail in high-def sources. Compared to Sony's previous "V-series" TVs, this one provides more inputs for connecting the latest HD gear, plus a better picture with non-HD programs, and more practical features to make day-to-day operation easier and more convenient.
BRAVIA Engine video processing improves low-quality signals
High-definition video sources look terrific on the KDL-52V4100, but most people still watch at least some non-HD material. That's why it's important to choose a TV with excellent video processing. Sony's latest BRAVIA Engine 2 circuitry cleans up lower-res signals by analyzing and processing each scene to enhance picture contrast, reduce noise, and optimize color.
Another quality that often distinguishes top-notch TVs from no-name models is picture contrast. Sony's Advanced Contrast Enhancer continuously monitors the video signal and adjusts the TV's backlight levels to improve contrast without masking details in darker areas of the picture.
So many viewing options
The KDL-52V4100 has built-in tuners for your local digital and analog over-the-air broadcasts (antenna required). Plus, a "QAM" cable TV tuner lets most cable subscribers watch unscrambled channels without a set-top box including HD channels in many areas.
The versatile set of audio/video connections includes six HD-capable inputs: four HDMI and two component video. And a proprietary rear-panel port lets you expand this TV's capabilities by adding one of Sony's optional BRAVIA Link add-on modules.
