Features
System Overview: The Sony DAV-IS10 is an integrated system that includes a single-disc
DVD/CD receiver, five matching micro-satellite speakers and a powered subwoofer.
The supplied wireless remote operates the system, plus multiple brands of televisions and
cable boxes. The system also comes supplied with an iPod interface for
connecting your iPod.
S-Master Digital
Amplifier: This unit is powered by the S-Master Full Digital Amplifier built
inside the system's powered subwoofer. The
amplifier processes audio signals from HDTV broadcasts, DVD, or other
digital sources, and amplifies them entirely in the digital domain. This design
is highly efficient, producing minimal heat, while taking up 1/4
of the space of conventional amplifiers. The amplifier has the following power
output specifications:
Surround Modes:
This receiver decodes the following surround modes to bring you maximum
enjoyment from your audio and video software:
- Dolby Digital: In the
Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround format, the surround speakers output
stereo sound with an expanded frequency range and a subwoofer channel for
deep bass is independently provided.
- DTS: The DTS surround
format conforms to 5.1-channel surround. This format comprises of a stereo
rear channel and a discrete subwoofer channel.
- Dolby Pro Logic II: Dolby
Pro Logic II creates five full-bandwidth output channels from 2-channel
sources. This is done using an advance, high-purity matrix surround decoder
that extracts the spatial properties of the original recording without
adding any new sounds or tonal colorations. You can choose from two Dolby
Pro Logic II modes.
- Movie: The Movie mode is
for use with stereo television shows and all programs encoded in Dolby
Surround.
- Music: The Music mode is
for use with any stereo music recordings and provides a wide and deep sound
space.
- Portable Audio Enhancer: This
sound mode produces a clear enhanced sound image from your connected portable
audio device. This mode is ideal for MP3 or other compressed music formats.
- Omni-Directional Sound:
This surround mode reproduces the stereo effect everywhere in your room from
all five micro-satellite speakers.
Music And Movie Mode: You can
choose a suitable sound mode for your movies and music by selecting either the
DVD receiver's Music or Movie mode.
2-Channel Stereo: In this mode,
standard stereo sources completely bypass the sound field processing.
Bass/Mid/Treble Controls: The system's Bass,
Mid and
Treble settings can be adjusted independently from -6 to +6dB in 0.5 dB
increments.
Night Mode/Audio DRC: The Night
Mode lets you enjoy sound effects or dialogue as you would in a movie theater,
even at low volume. Audio DRC
(Dynamic Range Compression) feature is useful for watching movies late at night
by letting you narrow the dynamic range of the sound track. You can select DRC
Standard, DRC Max, or DRC Off. Audio DRC applies only to Dolby Digital-encoded
soundtracks.
Digital Cinema Auto Calibration:
The Sony DAV-IS10 comes supplied with a setup
microphone that plugs into the back of the integrated DVD/CD receiver. Sony's
Digital Signal Processing uses feedback between the supplied setup microphone
and receiver to optimize sound settings. By simply placing the supplied setup
microphone in your listening position and pushing a single button on the remote
control, speaker position, distance to speaker and delays are automatically
calibrated. The microphone features a 16' cord for position flexibility and a
threaded hole on the bottom of the microphone's base for mounting it to a
tripod.
Note: You can also choose to adjust
the system's speaker settings (connection, distance, level) manually.

Video and Video CD only, the DAV-IS10 system can store the point where you

(multi-angles) for a scene are recorded on a DVD Video disc, you can change the
viewing angle while watching the video.
