Features
Overview: The BDI Avion
8529 Lowboy audio/video cabinet is recommended for use with Flat Panel and Rear
Projection TVs up to 70" in size. The top of the cabinet has a weight capacity
of up to 200 pounds. The smoked glass doors allow IR remote control beams to get
through, but keep your components out of sight.
Shelf Layout: The BDI 8529 has
three side-by-side compartments for components. The outer compartments are
18-5/16" wide, 16-3/16" high, and a maximum of 20-3/8" deep (the rear braces
reduce the shelf depth in some places). There are 6 available height positions
in each outer compartment, so you can adjust the shelf height to fit your
components. There are also two shelves side-by-side in the bottom portion of the
middle compartment. The center shelves are 18" wide, 7" high, and 15-3/8" deep.
Convertible Center Drawer: A
drawer is provided in the upper part of the center compartment. The internal
dimensions of the drawer are 34-5/16" wide, 6-1/2" high, and 15-7/16" deep. You
can divide the drawer into two sections with the supplied 1/2" divider, placing
it in any of four positions. You can remove the drawer if you wish to place a
center channel speaker in the drawer space. You can replace the glass center
panel insert with the speaker panel inserts if a speaker is used there.
Drawer Weight Capacity: The
bottom shelves have a weight capacity of 75 pounds each. The adjustable shelves
have a weight capacity of 50 pounds.
Sliding Back Panels: The unit
has two back panels that can slide left or right, giving you easy access to the
connections of your components.
Ventilation: The 8529 A/V
cabinet has ventilation slots in each shelf, on the bottom panel, and on the
back panels. These "flow-through" vents promote air flow, keeping the components
cool, and prolonging component life.
Hidden Casters: The three metal
legs have hidden casters and adjustable feet. The feet can be adjusted up or
down from inside the cabinet using a hex wrench. With the feet in the up
position, the cabinet rests on the casters, allowing you to easily roll it
forward or backward. This makes the cabinet easy to move away from the wall to
add or remove components. When the cabinet is in place, you can adjust the feet
down to lift the cabinet off the casters to keep the cabinet from rolling.
Some Assembly Required: The
8529 comes as a partially-assembled cabinet. The only assembly required includes
attaching the metal legs, installing the shelves and back panels, and attaching
the hardware.
Optional Flat Panel Mounting
System: You can add the optional BDI 8540 flat panel mounting system (item #
6318540) to the 8529 cabinet. With the 8540 bracket installed, you can mount
most flat panel TVs up to 50".
