Features
Overview:
The JVC UX-G50 micro-shelf unit is a
high-power 5-CD changer system with a USB audio input. It also features a front
audio input and 2-way speakers with Sound Turbo.
Amplification: This unit
is rated at 100 watts x 2 channels.
Disc Compatibility:
This unit will play audio CDs, audio CD-Rs and CD-RWs, and MP3 CDs.
Disc Exchange: You can exchange
up to 4 discs without interrupting the currently playing disc.
MP3 Playback: This
unit can play MP3 files recorded on CD-R, and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level
1/Level 2 format. Each disc can have a maximum of 200 folders and 500 files. The
unit is also ID3 Tag compatible.
Built-In Tuner: The shelf
system is equipped with a built-in digital AM/FM tuner. You can preset 30 FM
stations and 15 AM stations.
FM Mode: This feature allows
you to choose either Stereo or Mono mode for listening to the radio. Use the
Mono mode when reception is poor. The Mono mode will help clear up the
reception, though the stereo effect will be lost.
Program Play: When
playing an audio CD, up to 32 tracks can be programmed and played in any order.
Note: You cannot use
Program play for MP3 discs.
Random Play: You can play all
the tracks on a selected disc in random order.
Note: Tracks cannot be
selected with the numeric buttons during Random play.
Repeat Play: You can
repeat the current track, all the tracks on the selected disc, or all the tracks
on all loaded CDs. You can also use Repeat play for Program mode, Group
Mode(MP3) and Random mode.
MP3 Playback Mode: When playing
an MP3 disc, you can choose from one of the following playback
modes.
- Track Mode: The unit will
only recognize tracks (files) during playback; just like playing back an
audio CD.
- Group Mode: The unit
recognizes tracks (files) and groups on and MP3 disc. You can
play and MP3 disc according to how the songs are grouped on your disc.
Resume Play for MP3 Discs: For
an MP3 disc, this unit can store the number of the track that you
stooped playback. You can start playback again from the beginning of the same
track you stopped on.
Note: If you press the
eject button, disc buttons, or the disc skip button the Resume Play memory
is erased.
USB Port: This unit is equipped
with a USB terminal on the front panel. You can connect your PC to this terminal
and enjoy sound reproduced through your PC.
Note: This unit cannot send
any signal or date to your PC.
AUX Input: By using a stereo
mini plug cord (not supplied), you can connect the audio equipment with an
analog audio output such as an MD player, portable MP3 player or a TV. There are
two sound levels for this input.
- AUX LVL 1:
ordinary/factory setting; suitable for equipment with low output level such
as a portable audio device
- AUX LVL 2: decreased input
level; suitable for equipment with high output level such as a DVD player.
Quick Portable Link (QP Link):
When you connect other equipment such as a digital audio player to the AUX
terminal and play it back, the sources automatically changes to AUX.
Note: You cannot change the
sources while audio input is being received at the AUX input.
Sound Turbo: In Sound Turbo
mode, harder-hitting beats intensify your listening experience eve a low sound
levels. Sound Turbo also works even when the song has no "beat", such as
classical music, so that you can listen to the rich sound even at low volume.
AHB PPO: You can reinforce the
bass sound to maintain rich, full bass at low volume. You can turn this function
"On" or "Off".
Bass/Treble Controls: You can
adjust the bass and treble level independently from 0 to 5.
Daily Timer: You can
use the daily timer as an alarm clock to wake up to a CD, the radio, or a
connected auxiliary component at a preset volume level. Once the timer is
active, it will operate everyday at the set time. You can store up to three
timer settings.
Sleep Timer: The sleep timer
switches the system off after a specified amount of time so you can fall asleep
without worrying about the stereo being left on all night. The sleep timer can
be set to 10, 20, 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes.
Child Lock: You can lock the
disc trays so that no one can eject the loaded discs.
Dimmer: You can dim the display
window depending on your lighting environment.

Speaker
Design: The UX-G50 uses a pair of 2-way Bass reflex speakers.
There is one 4" cone woofer and one 1-5/8" cone tweeter in each Bass reflex
cabinet. The speaker wire is hardwired to the cabinet and speaker.

Inputs and Outputs Notes
Speaker Terminals: The UX-G50 features
black and red spring clip speaker terminals for each speaker on back of the
component block.
Auxiliary Input: You can
connect another piece of equipment such as a portable MiniDisc, MP3 player or TV to the
unit's front panel 3.5mm minijack auxiliary input.
USB Audio: This USB port (Ver.
1.1)
allows you to connect your computer and play music through the system.
Headphone Jack: The unit
features a front-panel headphone jack.
Antenna: The unit comes
equipped with two spring clip connections for the AM antenna and a F-type push-on
connector for the FM antenna.
