THE CAPACITOR MUST BE CHARGED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

TO CHARGE your Cap: place the charging card (supplied in this package)

on the Capacitor with the end marked " + " on the positive (+) terminal of

the Cap. Hand tighten the supplied terminal screws to secure the charge

card in place on both terminals. Connect the RED wire to a 12V power source.

Connect the BLACK wire to GROUND. The green LED on the charge card

should light. When the green LED goes out, your cap is charged.

TO DISCHARGE your cap: simply place the charging card on your Cap with the

end marked " + " on the positive (+) of the Cap. Hand tighten the supplied

terminal screws to secure the charging card in place on both terminals. Connect

the RED and BLACK wires together. When the red LED goes out, your Cap is discharged.

Tap in to the positive output of the battery with the correct gauge wire for your system.

Within 18" (0.5m) of the battery, place a fuse on the positive wire.Run this positive wire

to the positive (+) terminal of the Strike Cap to connect it to the battery, and then to the

amplifier's power connection. Mount the Cap close to the amplifier, keeping the positive

wire within 18" (0.5m) to reduce voltage loss in the cable. Use the same gauge wire the amplifier

accepts. DO NOT place any fuses between the Cap and amplifier! Using wire terminals, ground

the negative (-) unmarked terminal of the Lightning Cap to the nearest chassis ground point. If

you reverse the positive and negative wires the "ON" light on Cap top will glow red, indicating

extreme stupidity. Connect remote terminal screw on Cap top to switched remote lead on source

unit. See System Diagram below.

Adjusting DisplayBack To Top

Start Vehicle. Turn on system and play at LOW volume. Turn Sensitivity knob on Cap top with

small screwdriver until a few bars are lit. Gradually turn clockwise and stop when all bars are lit.

This is your max charge level.

Caution Back To Top

Large electrolytic capacitors do not like heat, oil, grease, water, or mistreatment. If the Strike Capacitor

housing is deformed during installation, many layers of foil material will be damaged inside the Capacitor

and it should not be installed. Install in a safe, dry location within 18" (0.5m) of the amplifier. Observe

correct polarity: positive terminal is marked with a (+) symbol, (-) terminal is not marked. Do not block

vent plug on top of Cap. If the Capacitor is wired in reverse of marking on Cap topthe electrolytic fluid

inside the Capacitor will vent, possibly causing damage to interior of vehicle. Use extreme caution when

handling these capacitors. To avoid any problems with your capacitor, treat it like a fully charged lead acid battery.
