Using a hard-drive stereo
While not yet as prevalent, built-in hard drives are a growing option for digital music on the go. They're currently available on select navigation and audio receivers, and let you store music files in the stereo's memory for playback later. It's a nice way to keep a library of music at your fingertips without having to set up a portable player, although an installed hard drive stereo does limit where you can listen to the music. When considering a stereo with built-in memory, consider one that will let you rip CDs quickly and offers file navigation features so you can find your tunes again.
