An integrated keyhole slot makes it easy to hang the HS 50 on the wall great for placement near a flat-panel TV. Or, set it on a shelf using the included foot. The foot's adjustable design lets you set the speaker flat, or angle it slightly downward for placement on a high shelf.
This versatile speaker performs well as part of a stereo or home theater setup. Team a pair of HS 50s with a powered subwoofer for full-bodied sound in a stereo system. In a home theater system, you can use the HS 50s as fronts and surrounds in smaller rooms, or team them with other Horizon Series speakers for surround sound in larger rooms.

Features
Overview: The Boston Acoustics HS 50 is sold as a single speaker, allowing you to use two in a stereo configuration, or up to seven in a multi-channel surround system. They can be mixed and matched with other Horizon Series speakers, such as the HS 40, HS 60, HS 225, or the floor-standing HS 450 or HS 460. A matching HPS powered subwoofer is recommended with the HS 50 to provide a full range sound.
Design: The speaker cabinet is made of molded ABS plastic with a "Soft Touch" finish. They are internally braced with MDF to eliminate resonance.
Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design (RBDD): The front baffle is gently curved both vertically to give you a wider, smoother dispersion.
Grilles: The HS 50 speaker is equipped with a removable Onyx cloth grille.
Boston P.O.P.: The Boston Personal Option Plan (P.O.P.) allows you to match your environment with optional grilles in multiple colors for the Horizon series speakers. In addition to the Onyx grille that comes with the speaker, you can purchase grilles in Glacier, Chocolat, Rose Bud, Chili Pepper, Silver, Caramel, or Pearl Gray. These optional grilles are available directly from the manufacturer.
Placement Options: The HS 50 can be placed on a tabletop or wall-mounted. The speaker comes configured for tabletop placement with a rear foot to keep the speaker upright. The foot has two screw holes, allowing you to place the speaker vertically or slightly tilted forward for high shelf placement. For wall mounting, the foot can be removed and the speaker hung on a #8 screw using the built-in keyhole slot. You can also use an optional wall-mount bracket that accepts a 1/4"-20 screw to fit the threaded screw hole that remains when the rear foot is removed.
Drivers
Tweeter: The HS 50 uses a 1" Kortec soft dome tweeter for crystal clear high frequencies.
Woofer: The HS 50 has a 5-1/4" copolymer woofer with a phase plug. The speaker features Boston's Deep Channel Design technology to give you more bass with less amplifier power. Rubber surrounds are used for added durability.
MagnaGuard: The speaker features MagnaGuard magnetic shielding which ensures the speaker's magnetic field does not interfere with the television's picture.
Gold-plated Binding Posts: The wire terminals are gold-plated, 5-way binding posts, allowing you to connect the speaker wire using dual banana plugs, single banana plugs, pin connectors, spade terminals, or bare wire. Bare wire up to 12 gauge fits through the binding posts.
Bass Management Recommendation: When setting bass management parameters on your home theater receiver, the outputs for this speaker can be set to Small or Normal.
