Overview: The MVC HUB4 is a speaker/power distribution hub that allows you to distribute both the speaker-level output and the switched power output from your amplifier or receiver to the muting volume controls for up to four pairs of stereo speakers. When you install a Niles MVC HUB4 in conjunction with Niles muting volume controls (MVC 100, WMVC 100 and/or WMVC 100E), the automatic muting feature is programmable. This allows certain locations (such as the guest bedroom and porch) to remain muted when system activation turns on other locations (such as the kitchen and family room).
Removable Connector Blocks: The hub has removable connector blocks for convenient wire connections. Each connector can accept up to 14-gauge wire. Larger (lower gauge) wire is not recommended, as it will not fit into the connectors. Solid-core, aluminum, or "Romex" wire is not recommended.
Mounting: The MVC HUB4 is designed specifically to fit into a structured wiring cabinet, with snap-in "Christmas Tree" plugs supplied for convenient installation. The hub can also be mounted to the wall.
Connections: The MVC HUB4 has the following connections:
- Input From Amp: connects to the output of the amplifier or receiver
- Speaker Outputs: connects to the speaker inputs on the volume controls
- Muting Outputs: connects to the 12V inputs on the volume controls
- Trigger: connects to the 12V trigger output on the amplifier or receiver, if one is available
- Switched/Power: connects
