This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you don't know how to use a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors that you'll use to attach the Crutchfield harness to your factory harness.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

    Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

    Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

    Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required and sold separately.

    Pros:
    Very convenient and easy read pin-out.
    Cons:
    Since my car has a navi system, it would have been great to get the extra pins for that too.

    Wire harness worked perfectly. Wire colors did not match exactly with Kenwood wire harness but Crutchfield Technical Support talked me through the proper wire connections. Make sure you know how to solder or have 10+ wire connectors.

    This free harness that matched my factory vehicle side harness made the installation significantly easier
    Pros:
    This harness allowed me to soder all but one of the wires from both the receiver connector and the iDatalink Maestro ADS-MSW.
    Cons:
    There was one wire required by the Maestro to get my steering wheel controls to work that wasn't pinned and stubbed on the harness. Therefore, I had to soder that one wire directly to before the vehicle side connector after stripping the wire. It would have been so much eaiser if the provided harness would have already had a pin in pin 3 with a stub wire.

    I did all the soldering in my basement workshop, and it was fairly straight forward. My main complaint is that all the installation instructions for the radio head unit, Axxess ASWC interface, installation trim kit and this wire harness are not very well integrated to make them clear AS A WHOLE PROCESS to the customer. I talked with Crutchfield tech support twice before I ever opened up the dash board of my car, just to understand the instructions well enough to process. This could be done better and without off-loading so much of the responsibility of figuring it all out on the customer.

    The wiring harness that you guys provided me at no additional cost worked fine and made the installation very easy.
    Pros:
    Worked just swell.
    Cons:
    A note of warning would be good. By using this adapter, there is now an extra "glob" hanging down behind the radio. The first time I pulled out the cup holder (which in my car is right under the radio), the adapter fell into the space where the cup holder slides back into. To make things work right, I had to pull out the new radio and tie up the adapter so that it would not interfere with my cup holder.
