Overview: The Boston Acoustics
Bravo II is sold as a single speaker, this allows you to use one as a center speaker
(not magnetically shielded so it can't be used as a center channel with CRT/tube
television), two as a pair of main or surround speakers,
or a package of 3, 5, 6, or 7 in a multi-channel home theater
system. The Bravo II is voice-matched to the Boston Acoustics P4 series
speakers.

Driver Technology
Tweeter: The Bravo II uses
Boston's 1" VR aluminum dome tweeter with AMD (Amplitude Modification
Device). This tweeter uses a specially anodized aluminum dome. Compared to a soft dome, aluminum is equally light, yet more
rigid. Compared to other hard dome materials, an aluminum dome is unrivaled in
its ability to accurately track the input signal. AMD is used
to further optimize the aluminum dome's output, without taking anything away.
AMD is a patented acoustical tuning device that uses precisely sized hollow
tubes positioned in front of the tweeter to refocus short wavelength energy and
create an extremely smooth, flat response. This is done without using elaborate
electronic components that can degrade the sound's purity.
Woofer: The Bravo II
has a 4-1/2" woofer that's built from the ground up for this speaker and
designed to match Boston's P4 series speakers. Rubber surround is used for
added
durability. The ported enclosure adds to the full sound of the speaker
by increasing efficiency.
Bass Management: When setting
bass management parameters on your home theater receiver, the outputs for this
speaker should be
set to Small.
Connections
Binding Posts: The wire
terminals are binding posts (4-way), allowing you to connect the speaker wire
using dual banana plugs, single banana plugs, pin connectors,
or bare wire. Spade terminals will not fit because the posts are recessed into
the cabinet. Bare wire up to 12
gauge fits through the spring loaded posts.
Mounting Options
Wall Mounting Brackets: The
Bravo II includes a wall mounting bracket which can be positioned vertically or
horizontally. The body of the speaker is essentially one quarter of a cylinder
so it can be mounted vertically, recessed into a corner, or horizontally at the
junction of the wall and ceiling. The bracket can also be mounted perpendicular
to the wall anywhere in the room. Mounting hardware is included.
Tabletop Mounting: Included
with the Bravo II is a rear bracket stand which allows the speaker to sit on any
flat surface (table, shelf). When the rear bracket stand is removed, the Bravo
II tilts up at a 45° angle.
Optional Stands: The Bravo II
speaker can be placed on one of two optional stands, the table top stand (item
number 065P4TS) or the floor stand (item number 065P4FL).
