Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

It is nice to not have to ruin factory connectors. This does just that! Plenty of length to make appropriate connections.

worked great. Note: the lugs had be tighted a bit with needle nose pliers to attach tightly to my speakers, but that is not an issue, and happens often with sort of work.

Pros:

saved me lots of time, and the adapter works as designed

Cons:

tightening the lugs to hold tightly to the speaker- Hardly a 'con', by my experience.

Incomplete and unusable. The harness will only work if you are installing a full range (coaxial, etc) speaker. It only has 2 wires feeding the speaker; the OE design 4 wires with the second 2 wires going to the tweeters. I had to cut off the factory plug and run those 2 outputs to an aftermarket crossover, then run new sire to the speaker and a second wire going to the tweeter high in the door. Unless you are just installing coaxial speakers, dbon't bother buying this harness.

Pros:

Useless purchase for the Passat, although it might fit other VWs if you just want to drive a single speaker in the door

Cons:

Consider your installtion carefully, but for my application It is unusable

Easily connects to factory fitting but the narrow (-?) fitting was loose on the speaker prongs of the Pioneers that I bought (TS-G1644R & TS-G1643R). I took pliers and squeezed fitting a little before slipping onto prong and it now holds tight. Easy fix.

Cons:

May need to tighten narrow end that connects to speaker

This cable did indeed fit the factory connector in my 2001 Beetle but it would be
really nice to have supplied some sticky-back foam to wrap the connector in to
keep it from rattling against the door and panel. The original speaker has the
connector built into the spacer and there is no extra slack in the wiring
harness. I modified the new spacers and epoxied the new harness connectors
to them to resemble the original configuration.
