Features
Overview: The Kenwood KCA-S220A is a switching unit which
allows you to operate and switch between two compatible Kenwood add-on source
devices such as a CD-changer, HD Radio Tuner, Satellite Radio Interface,
Bluetooth Interface, or iPod Adapter with a compatible Kenwood headunit.
The switching unit also has an auxiliary input with stereo RCA jacks for adding
an external audio source, such as a portable MP3 player. A 6-1/2' cable is
supplied for connecting the switching unit to your Kenwood head unit.
Compatibility: The
KCA-S220A is compatible with Kenwood headunits with a 5L connection, Kenwood
CD-changers (1999-up), Kenwood HD Radio Tuners, Kenwood Satellite Radio
Interfaces, Kenwood iPod Adapters (iP500), and Kenwood Bluetooth Interfaces.
Note: Not compatible
with Kenwood headunits which feature a KAB port.
Auxiliary Input: The KCA-S220A
is equipped with a stereo RCA auxiliary input for connecting an external audio
device, such as a portable MP3 or mini-disc unit. The auxiliary terminals are
active only when the Aux Switch is set to "On". When the switching unit is
connected to a control unit from Group A, you can switch between Changer 1 and
the Auxiliary source terminals if the Aux Switch is "On" and between Changer 1
and Changer 2 if the Aux Switch is "Off". If the switching unit is connected to
a control unit from Group B, you can switch between Changer 1, Changer 2, and
Aux when the Aux Switch is "On".
Installation Notes: The
switching unit can be mounted with the supplied self-tapping screws or with the
supplied self-adhesive Velcro strips. Typical locations for the unit include the
trunk area of your vehicle, or under a seat in the passenger area.
Inputs and Outputs
Front:
- To Head Unit: connects
to your car receiver using the provided connection cable
- Input 1: connects to a compatible Kenwood source
- Input 2: connects to compatible Kenwood source
Back:
- Aux Switch (On/Off): turns the auxiliary input On or
Off
- Aux Input: RCA left and right
