Marine Grade: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD is a true marine grade in-dash CD receiver
with easy to use controls and easy grip knobs. This head unit features a
heavy-duty fold-down faceplate to keep water away from the Compact Disc and SD
Card slot, along with rear-panel USB, AUX, and iPod inputs, and is Sirius
Satellite Radio ready.

Display Features
Oversized Fold-Down Face: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD
features an oversized fold-down face, so your CD-disc and SD memory card stays
protected behind the unit's marine rated face-plate. The front-panel
mechanically folds down to load and eject your CDs and SD memory cards.
Note: The face-plate is not detachable.
Single-Line Display: The marine head
unit features a high visibility 1-line display, with black text and white
background.
Disc/SD-card Playback
Compatible Discs: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD features a
front-loading CD mechanism located behind the head unit's fold-down faceplate.
The marine CD receiver supports playback of CD, CD-Text, and CD-R/RW (MP3)
discs.
SD Card Slot: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD's SD card slot is hidden
behind the head unit's fold-down faceplate. The marine head unit supports both
SD & MMC memory cards that contain MP3 audio files.
Search Functions: The RFX9700CD offers several search functions to
help you find your music.
- Intro Scan: You can listen to the first 10 seconds of each song a
disc.
- Seek: You can skip to the previous or next track.
- Seek +/-10: You can skip ahead or backward 10 tracks at a time
for a faster search.
- Direct Entry: You can use the front-panel control to access a
track/file directly
Playback Functions: The RFX9700CD offers Normal, Random (all/folder),
and Repeat (all/folder/track) playback functions for your inserted disc or SD
card.
Off Insert/Eject: A CD disc can be inserted or ejected with
the power off. When a disc is inserted with the power off, the unit will
automatically power up and begin playback.
Auto Reload: When a CD is ejected and left sticking out of
the CD slot for 15 seconds, the unit automatically reloads the CD to protect if
from damage.
USB/iPod/AUX Connectivity
USB Input: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD is equipped with a
rear-panel USB type-A port (attached to the chassis by a 39" pigtail) and
includes a 6' USB extension cable to connect a USB mass storage class device.
The unit supports USB (msc) devices that are formatted in FAT16/32 and contain
MP3 audio files. The head unit provides audio playback, basic control,
song/artist display, and charging.
iPod Connect: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD features a rear-panel
proprietary iPod connector port and includes a proprietary iPod dock cable to connect most
iPods with dock connector. The RFX9700CD supports audio playback, control, and
charging of your iPod. This unit also supports the display of title information
transmitted from your iPod. The head unit lets you search music for playback
from your iPod/iPhone by category (Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, or Genre). You
can then search each category alphabetically. You can also control the following
playback functions of your iPod/iPhone; Play/Pause, Next/Previous track, and
Random/Repeat. Your iPod's controls will be locked during connection. The
Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD is "Made for iPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change
functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may
need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If
this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or
wait until a newer software update is available.
Auxiliary Input: This unit features a rear mounted, stereo
RCA auxiliary input on a 6" pigtail so you can connect an external audio source.
Note: The optional auxiliary extension cable (020CCAUX,
sold separately) turns the head unit's stereo RCA inputs into a single stereo
minijack (3.5mm) input. The auxiliary extension cable's 3.5mm connector
features a rubber-cap and can be flush mounted for a permanent and safe
installation in a marine environment.
Radio Functions
AM/FM Tuner: The RFX9700CD features a built-in AM/FM tuner
with U.S. and European tuning.
Tuning Modes: The built-in tuner offer 4 tuning modes; Seek,
Scan, Manual, and Preset.
Preset Tuning: The RFX9700CD provides 3 FM bands and 2 AM
bands. Each AM/FM bank can hold up to 6 station presets, providing you with a
total of18 FM station presets and 12 AM station presets.
Radio Scan: The Radio Scan function pauses for 5 seconds on every
station detected by the AM/FM tuner.
Satellite Radio Ready: There are several options for
connecting an optional XM or SIRIUS Satellite Radio receiver to this receiver:
- Sirius Satellite Radio: To receive Sirius Satellite
Radio, you can connect the optional SC-C1 Sirius Connect Universal Vehicle
Tuner (607SCC1,
sold separately) directly to the head unit's Sirius direct connection (no
proprietary interface required). You can also connect the Sirius
dock-and-play adapter (607SCVDOC1)
along with a compatible portable Sirius radio (all sold separately).
- Auxiliary Input: A portable XM or Sirius Satellite
Radio receiver can also be connected to the head unit via the rear-panel
auxiliary input.
Note: A subscription is also required to receive
satellite radio programming from Sirius or XM.
Audio Section
MOSFET Amplifier: The RFX9700CD is equipped with a MOSFET
amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification
circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less
distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder
and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the
amplification circuit.
- Full Bandwidth Power: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4
ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
- Maximum Output Power: 40 watts x 4 channels
Bass & Treble: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD provides independent
Bass & Treble controls to tailor the head unit's sound to your listening
preference.
Loudness: This feature allows you to listen to your music clearly at
low volume levels by reinforcing the bass and treble.
5V/6Ch Preamp Outputs: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD is equipped with
three pair of 5-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Sub). The front and rear speaker
preamp outputs are balance and fade adjustable. The subwoofer preamp output is
non-fading.
Remote Control
Optional Wired Remote Control: The RFX9700CD is fitted with
a proprietary wired remote input and is compatible with
Rockford Fosgate's wired remote controls (all sold separately).

- RFXMR7 advanced wired remote with digital display

Installation Notes
Custom Mount: The Rockford Fosgate RFX9700CD requires a
rectangular cutout in the bulkhead for inserting the chassis. Six screws
(supplied) fasten the faceplate against the mounting surface, and hold the
waterproof gasket against the bulkhead.
Note: The receiver does not include a mounting
sleeve or ISO-mount screw holes to accommodate standard European or ISO-DIN
automotive installation.
