Overview: The Garmin Mechanic with ecoRoute HD transforms your Bluetooth compatible nuvi GPS device or Android smartphone into a real-time automotive diagnostic computer. By connecting to your vehicle's
diagnostic system, the ecoRoute HD monitors vehicle performance and provides
detailed system data; including engine monitoring, sensor and gauge data, fuel
efficiency, engine diagnostics, and more.
Garmin nuvi GPS Compatibility: The Garmin Mechanic with ecoRoute HD is
compatible with 1200 series and higher Bluetooth capable Garmin nuvi devices.
Simply plug the ecoRoute HD module into your vehicle's standardized onboard
diagnostics port (OBD II), then complete the easy one-time pairing between the
ecoRoute HD and the Bluetooth-enabled Garmin nuvi GPS device.
Note: Before installing the ecoRoute HD module, you must
update your Garmin nuvi GPS device's software. Visit the
Garmin WebUpdater for the latest updates & downloads.
Garmin Mechanic App: Add the
Garmin Mechanic app to your Bluetooth-enabled Android smartphone and
ecoRoute HD can show real time engine performance data on your smartphone.
Simply plug the ecoRoute HD module into your vehicle's standardized onboard
diagnostics port (OBD II) and download the free Garmin Mechanic app from the
Android Market onto your compatible Android smartphone. Follow the on-screen
prompts to pair the ecoRoute HD with your Bluetooth-enabled Android smartphone.
Note: Requires smartphone with Android 2.1 and up.
Vehicle Compatibility: The Garmin Mechanic with ecoRoute HD
is designed and tested to meet the OBD II specifications that are required on
most 1996 and newer cars and light trucks sold in the United States. However,
some vehicles may be incompatible with the Garmin ecoRoute HD. See Garmin's
incompatible vehicles list for more information.
Note: Due to the large number of different vehicle
models produced and mid-year manufacturer changes, this incompatibility
list may not be complete.
OBD II Connector: The easy to install ecoRoute HD plugs into your
vehicle's OBD II port to send accurate engine performance data wirelessly to a
compatible Bluetooth-enabled Garmin nuvi GPS device or Android smartphone. This
allows you to decode OBD II engine trouble codes and reset your vehicle's check
engine light from your nuvi device or smartphone.
Gauges Page: The Garmin Mechanic with ecoRoute HD provides you with
complete gauge cluster in one convenient location on your compatible nuvi GPS
device or Android smartphone. The information displayed on the gauges page is
collected directly from your vehicle. Gauges to monitor RPM, air/fuel mixture,
oil pressure, oil temp, coolant temp, air flow, fuel flow, and air
pressure are available. You can select the gauges you want to monitor most and
customize screens with various gauge packages. The number and type of gauges
displayed may vary by vehicle.
Note: Air/fuel mixture, oil pressure, oil temp, and fuel flow
gauges are only available using the Garmin Mechanic app on your compatible
Android smartphone.
Diagnostic Check: With ecoRoute HD, you'll receive clear explanations
as to what is wrong with your vehicle, and you even have the ability to reset
your check engine light, saving you time and money spent at the repair shop.
After completing a simple installation, you can run diagnostic testing on
vehicle systems, such as the battery and drive train, to receive engine
performance data and more than 4,000 error codes.
Fuel Economy: You can use the data from ecoRoute HD to actually help
you improve your driving habits and get more miles to the tank using timely fuel
and mileage reports featuring accurate fuel consumption/conservation data.
Calculate your fuel efficiency, carbon footprint and more all through your
compatible Garmin nuvi GPS device or Android smartphone.
LED Status: The two LEDs (green & blue) on top of the
ecoRoute HD module indicate the connection status.

Installation Warning: When installing the device in a
vehicle, install the device securely so it does not interfere with the vehicle
operating controls, such as the foot pedals, or the driver's feet. Interference
with the vehicle operating controls or feet can result in an accident, which
could result in injury or death.
