    Benchmarked Worst case scenario 1 meter Monster 1000HD against another 40 ft cable using Avatar 3D, Samsung d6500 BD, and Samsung 55ES7500, and Yamaha RX V673 before deciding on a Monster 35ft 1000HD ...absolutely no difference. Save your money...will try to return it.

    This is my first HDMI cable so I really don't have another one to compare it to. However I am familiar with Monster Cable and I do like their products. I don't need such a high-end cable for my current application, but realize I will in the future as I upgrade my gear, so I just went ahead and bought an expensive one now. The real question is, is it worth the money? I really don't know although I do believe cables can make a difference and I believe in getting the absolute best performance out of my gear.

    Cable works just like any HDMI, It's a stiff cable, but also flexible at the same time. Didn't notice a big difference in picture quality compared to a standard Monster cable I have.
    Pros:
    well built, monster for life product so if they ever exceed the 19 GBPS you'll get a free upgrade

    expensive with little results compared to a cheaper cable

    There 'IS' a difference in HDMI cables. I bought a new Blu-ray player, hooked everything up with an older HQ monster HDMI cable, and then went to watch a movie with 7.1 channel uncompressed audio with a 1080i picture (Yes, I need a new TV). The audio was cutting out and the picture would not show. Imagine how upset I was. I thought at first that the BD player was bad and needed to be sent back. Then I searched the forums and read about trying higher spec cables. I took a chance and ordered a new MC HDMI cable that was rated for much higher throughput. Crutchfield delivered it the next day (bravo). Audio was now all there (and sounded awesome) and the picture was back. Remember that I was only pushing 1080i. So clearly the cable was saturated with the new higher resolution sound formats from Blu-ray. So do yourself a favor and buy a cable that is rated for what you are pushing through the cable. If you plan on using your optical or coax cable instead of HDMI for lower rez sound or do not have a 1080p TV, then go ahead and buy a less expensive, but quality made, cable. But if you plan on getting the most from Blu-ray (both audio and video) then spend the extra money. I don't know of too many other companies that will give you a lifetime upgrade waranty if you need more throughput in the future, or need newer features currently not supported. Kudos to crutchfield for offering a discound when buying other gear.

    The delivery guys installed the TV with the monster cable and left before they got the TV working properly.

    I had to pay for a house visit by a Time Warner tech who discovered the cable was faulty. I returned it to Crutchfield for a full refund.

    Monster products are the only products I use. I have an Sony XBR5 & XBR8 I use monster Ultra High Speed HDMI cables for both TVs, as well as my Directv to my A/V Recievers then to the HD/LCD TVs. My newest is a RX-V3900 Yamaha, I added to my other 2 Yamaha Recievers. Plus I use the surge protection by Monster the MTS 1000 (4) of them. If you want proformance for high end home electonics. Then there is only one product to consider MONSTER.

    Seems to be the best cable made. Unlike earlier HDMI cables, it's relatively flexible which helps with managing hook ups. I'm not sure if it makes an enormous difference - but at least if there's an issue with my DTV signal - which happens - I know it's not my cable. Expensive piece of mind but worth it.

    You get what you pay for. I upgraded to the 1000HD from a generic HDMI. I now have a super picture quality and it eliminated video lock up random pixels. My only dissapointment is that I did not but it longer.

    I have purchased several Monster cables from Crutchfield. These cables are without question the finest I have owned. There is no hiss, absolutely no interference of any kind gets through these monster cables, just sound, pure unadulterated joyous musical sound. The video is equally impressive. It's soundtracks put you in the frame. Georgeous sound quality.

    Although I do not believe these cables should be priced so high, I do believe they make a difference. When you spend a large amount on the other components you have, TV, receiver, etc.... why connect them with an inferior cable. This component really counts when you reach the limits of the capability of all of your equipment. They shine when watching a movie like Dark Knight on blu ray with the True HD audio coming through your receiver. You wont see much difference if you are comparing two cables with a questionable signal from your cable provider in 720p or 1080i because any cable can transmit that with no problem. The proof will come when you put it to the test with a high quality signal. If none of this mattered then every stereo component and tv would look and sound the same, after all they are just a conglomeration of wires and electronic components but it is the quality of that wiring and componentry and how it is assembled that makes one piece better than another. Do your self a favor if you love superior surround sound and picture quality and buy the good cable.

    These cables are ahead of their time, i.e. current technology does not need the performance of these cables, but in the near future the difference will become much more apparent. And if the future ever exceeds their ability, Monster will replace your cables for free. So in retrospect, if you spend a little more now, you will never spend anymore money.
