Sony Digital Photo Printer Utility Software
Overview
General Overview:
This unit is a photo printer which uses sublimation dye transfer printing. It
can print images directly from a Memory Stick, and it can save the images
directly to Memory Stick as well. It can also be connected to a computer using a
USB cable (not supplied). The unit is made to be connected to a television
(when not using a computer) so you can display and select images (the TV must
have a composite video input). Using a computer (either PC or Mac) allows you
print images from your hard drive. The computer must meet the following system
requirements:
For Windows use:
- Pre-installed Windows 98/ 98SE/Windows
Me/Windows 2000 Professional/Windows XP Home edition/Windows XP Professional
(Sony cannot guarantee compatibility with systems upgraded from Windows 3.1 or

- RAM: 64 MB or more
- Hard Disk Space: 200 MB or more
- Port: pre-installed USB port
(compatibility with add-on USB port cannot be guaranteed)
- CD-ROM drive (to install software)
For Macintosh use:

Features
Photo-realistic printing: With
its dye sublimation printing system, the printer can make photo-realistic
prints.
Memory Stick slot: This
unit will work with Memory Stick and print direct without a PC/Mac.
Built-in Clock:
A built-in clock allows you to record the time when images are saved onto Memory
Stick, and, if desired, you can set the printer to print the time on your
photos. The clock also allows you to start a calendar with the current month
when making a calendar print.
Super Coat 2 Feature:
A coating over your prints that makes them more durable and more resistant to
moisture and fingerprints.
Auto Fine Print 2 Feature: The
auto fine 2 print feature analyses the picture information of an image and
corrects it as a vivid, clear, and natural picture. This function can be turned
on or off.
Exif 2.2 (Exif Print) Support: This
printer supports Exif 2.2. Exif stands for "exchangeable image file" -
which is a global standard format for digital still cameras. The printer
automatically adjusts an image saved by a digital still camera with Exif Print
standard and prints it with optimal picture quality.
Card Printing:
You may make an original card by adding a greeting and message to an image. If
you prefer to put more than one image on a card, multiple images can be put on a
card using one of the preset multiple-image templates.
Calendar Printing: You
can print a 1-month calendar with an image from Memory Stick or PC.
Split Prints (multiple images on
one sheet): You can make a
print with 4-split, 9-split, 13-split (12-split images around a larger centered
imager), or 16-split images. You can use the same image or multiple images when
making a split print.
Sticker Printing: When
used with sticker photo print paper, you can make photo stickers. Use the
SVM-304SW09 9-split (9 small stickers on a 3-1/2x4" sheet).
Image Editing: By
using the "EFFECT" menu, you can edit and adjust images. The following
editing functions are available:
- Enlarging/Reducing:
An image may be reduced up to 60%, or it may be enlarged by up to 200%.
- Changing Position:
A picture can be moved up, down, to the left or to the right, and images can be
rotated 90 degrees at a time.
- Picture Quality Adjustments:
The brightness, tint, color deepness and sharpness of pictures can be adjusted.
- Text:
Enters and overlaps characters on an image.
- Filter:
You may apply a sepia, monochrome or paint filter to an image. The sepia filter
makes an image look like an old photograph with faded color, the monochrome
filter makes an image into a monochrome picture and the paint filter makes an
image look like it is a painting.
Index List:
You can print an index list (48 or 80 thumbnail images on one printer sheet) to
show the images stored on a Memory Stick.
Slide Show Viewing:
The printer can be set to display the images from a Memory Stick or one after
another on your TV like a slide show. You may set the printer to show the images
in quick or slow succession.
DPOF (Digital Print Order Format)
Mode: This unit can
automatically print images marked with DPOF. DPOF is a format found in some
digital cameras and camcorders which allows you to mark which images you want to
automatically print when the Memory Stick is inserted in the printer.
Image Delete:
You can delete images on a Memory Stick one at a time.
