NAD

Everything you always wanted in a stereo receiver, except the radio

An integrated amplifier is essentially a receiver without a built-in AM/FM tuner. You get power to drive your speakers, audio controls, and inputs for music source components. Connect an iPod, a computer, a network music player, or any other device that can play Internet radio, and you may find you have no need for an AM/FM radio.

Our take on the NAD C 375BEE

by Dave Bar

Experience room-filling sound with impressive musical detail and transparency. The NAD C 375BEE features a sophisticated design and beefy construction to bring out the best in all your music — from the lowest, wall-shaking pedal notes of a pipe organ to the delicate reverberation of a solo acoustic guitar. This integrated amp delivers 150 full-bandwidth-rated watts to each of your stereo speakers for powerful, undistorted sound, even during your music's most demanding passages.

Advanced technology for stunning sound

The C 375BEE employs many of the same high-end features found on NAD's top-of-the-line Masters Series components, including NAD's exclusive PowerDrive™ technology. This unique circuit automatically senses your speaker's impedance, then optimizes the amp's power supply settings to deliver the most dynamic power possible. This allows it to easily drive low-impedance loads, including many of today's high-end speakers, which often run closer to four ohms than eight. Plus, a patented distortion canceling circuit in the amp's output stage ensures your music stays clean and pure.

A strong, vibration-resistant build

Along with all of its advanced technology, NAD gave the C 375BEE a big helping of good old-fashioned construction quality. This integrated amplifier boasts a heavy-gauge steel chassis for added durability and vibration resistance. Its power supply, the heart of any amplifier, utilizes an interference-canceling toroidal transformer and heavy copper buss bars to channel enormous amounts of current to the custom gold-plated speaker binding posts. Additional premium-quality internal components — such as four pairs of discrete high-wattage output transistors per channel — allow the C 375BEE to handle prolonged high-power operation effortlessly.

Connections and convenience

This integrated amp offers enough inputs to connect seven audio components. Its modular design even allows turntable owners to install an optional NAD phono module for listening to vinyl. (Or, connect NAD's outboard PP3 phono preamp.) Two sets of main speaker outputs provide hookups for an additional pair of speakers. Separate preamp input/line-level output jacks let you use the C 375BEE as an independent power amplifier or preamp for future system expansion, or to easily add a powered subwoofer. And the included remote gives you easy control of the amplifier and the other NAD audio components in your system.

    Features

Soft Clipping: NAD's Soft Clipping circuit gently limits the output of the C 375BEE to minimize audible distortion when the amplifier is over-driven. While Soft Clipping can be left on at all times to reduce the likelihood of audible distortion from excessive volume settings, you can also turn the circuit off for critical listening if you prefer.

Bridgeable: The C 375BEE can be bridged to a single channel, more than doubling the power output. When bridged, the minimum recommended speaker impedance is 8Ω.

Tape Monitor: If you own a 3-head tape deck, the tape monitor loop allows you to monitor recording quality as the recording is made.

Phono Input: From the factory the C 375BEE has no phono input, but the optional PP 375 Phono Module (item number 745PP375) can be installed, creating an input that will accept moving magnet or moving coil cartridges.

Front Input: A 3.5mm mini-jack input on the front panel is labeled MP (Media Player); there is also an RCA MP input on to rear panel which is automatically disconnected when the front panel input is used.

Pre-out/Main-in Loop: Factory jumpers connect the main amplifier input to the Pre Out 1 preamp outputs. This offers the flexibility of inserting an equalizer, surround processor (when using multiple amps), or another type of processor between the two stages.

Dual Preamp Outputs: The second set of preamps are convenient for bi-amping speakers or adding a powered subwoofer.

Remote Control: The SR 8 wireless remote will control the C 375BEE and NAD CD players and Tuners.

    NAD 375 w/ B&W CM9

Written By Jerry, Royal Palm Beach FL on Saturday, February 16, 2013
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've alwasy been more of a traditionalist using amps and pre-amps; however, after much review I decided to give NAD's 375 a try. I have to say, I was pleasently amazed at how clean the sound was. I truly could not tell the difference between some of the previous amp/pre-amp components I'd put together. Coupled with their 565 CD player, the sound has been very vivid with lots of detail. I paired them with a set of B&W CM9's. I'm very happy with the product.
    Pros:
Very well built, good quality, clean sound, suitable power
    Cons:
Wish it had digital audio inputs (i.e. fiber optic cables) and little bit more power (i.e. 175 or 200 watts).

    NAD C 375BEE

Written By Brad S, Bartlesville OK on Sunday, December 23, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Use this to push 2 paradigm studio 60's, also have a klipsh 300 watt self powered sub that I hooked to the b channels which seems to work really well that way, adds just enough but not too much. Had an Arcam 120 watts channel that was never this crisp and clear even when new. Was never happy with the paradigms before now.

    Great Improvement

Written By Bill C, Coupeville, WA on Monday, November 12, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My system has never sounded this good. The Gallo speakers, especially, seem to pair well with this integrated amp. I'm waiting for the NAD CD player to arrive in order to see if the sound can be made even better. I'm not a true audiophile, but I know good sound when I hear it without knowing much about the tech jargon.

Pairs very well with PSB speakers

Written By Rob T, Minneapolis, MN on Wednesday, August 01, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Extraordinarily good receiver. I pair this with PSB Synchrony Two B bookshelf speakers, staged using Jim Smith's "Get Better Sound", and the overall setup is marvelous. Source is usually 96khz recordings played on a Macbook through Audirvana, output through USB to a NuForce DAC, then out to the NAD. I try doing comparison tests, and just get lost in the music and forget what I'm supposed to be appraising. Be forewarned, if you have low-quality recordings this receiver will show no mercy, and the flaws will be evident. Good recordings have a presence and vitality that's really hard to beat. I bought a scratch and dent, have not been able to locate either scratch or dent, but it was arrived very securely packed with Crutchfield's usual speedy delivery. Expensive, and heavy, but if you take music seriously this is well worth it. It has the power to drive speakers like the PSBs, with no need for a sub in a smaller room. Bass is not tight, but I don't like tight bass anyway, too dry.
    Pros:
Everything above. Such a big step up from what I had before it's hard to describe.
    Cons:
Heavy, and the remote sometimes doesn't respond well. The remote seems under-engineered compared to everything else.

    NAD C 375BEE & Niles HPS-6

Written By MikeD, Birmingham, AL on Monday, May 07, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed to upgrade a Denon AVR system we using for a bar/restaurant sound system so I called Crutchfield and spoke with Brian about my situation. We weren't using the receiver portion of the Denon so he suggested the NAD C37BEE to accommodate our 5 possible feeds for music along with the Niles HPS-6 since we have five zones of music, each with its own volume control. This works perfectly and has plenty of power for our business. Thanks for the expert advice and making the order process so easy!
    Pros:
Easy to set up and sounds great! Fantastic individual products and a superb pairing.
    Cons:
The NAD came strapped for Pre-Out 2 which has a small volume control on the back of the unit and completely bypasses the front control. Not something I expected or was able to figure out by myself. A call to Crutchfield's tech and a little troubleshooting solved my problem.

    NAD

Written By Daniel, Corona, NY on Thursday, February 02, 2012

After 29 years, and the need for a second repair in the last 4, the time came to part with my trusted Carver M-1.5t amplifier. But what could replace such reliable and wonderful companion? I'm a believer in big power, but Bob Carver's new company, Sunfire, entered into the dark side of expensive. NAD is a company with a reputation for good-quality, no-frills stereo components, and the C375BEE intrigued me for I was sure its 150wpc rating was probably way down on the conservative side. I was not dissappointed. I'm back to enjoying wonderful explosive transients from my music collection. Some would consider my equipment consisting of this NAD paired with my BOSE's 901s, and my $120 CD/SACD (no turntable, sin of all sins!) as misguided, if not outright ignorant. As a bonus, I'll add that my speaker cables are plain 18 gauge zip cord wire.

    Go Nad Go

Written By Anthony G, Houston Texas on Thursday, December 01, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This amp has a very clean sound-it truly reminds me of tube equitment when the sound was real and natural, very little to adjust, the sound is just perfect, great with bose 901s,I even got rid of my subwoofer, dont need it anymore, this amp reaches lows very well, clean and undistorted. Go listen to one and youll know what im saying. Yes the price is up there but you buy something like this once in a life time and it will outlive you and I and it kind of goes back to the saying you get what you pay for. If your looking for high end stuff here it is.
    Pros:
This amp is now married to my Bose 901 s,talk about a match made in heaven-I love the soft clipping feature included with this amp,i have it on but its such a clean sound I havent yet seen it work-its a power house of clean clean sound, this amp reminds me of super tube amp with perfect lows and highs. Great investment !!! Should have it for many years to come, very sturdy and solid built and you must respect its weight,if it weighed less you may wonder what your paying for.

    Clean and Transparent Power

Written By Marc M, Lakewood NJ on Thursday, August 11, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I upgraded this amp from the smaller NAD 326BEE and all can say is Wow! The amp is so clean and transparent that it really should be bumped to their reference grade line-up. Its hard to describe the sound, but its clean , accurate with no coloration at all. Seems to drive my speakers much louder and with TONS more detail than my older onkyo 100x2 amp. Overall one of the best amps ive ever owned. They are running Dynaudio Focus MkII speakers at 4 ohms. Sound is so good its scary. Im happy i didnt buy one of those commercial spec amps from best buy. There is a major difference btw NAD and other main stream brands. You do need to give the amp a few days to break in to hear its full potential.

    NAD 375BEE

Written By Chuck, Ga. on Sunday, July 10, 2011

The 375 is in an entirely different class than most of it's comparably priced competition. It's not the power, it's how it's delivered. Many of the amps I've used recently are gutless when compared with the NAD. I've ran this amp with a wide range of speakers. From inexpensive Infinity's, $3K PSB's, Vandersteens', and power gobbling Magnepans. For the $ spent, it's the best I've used. I'm tempted to buy a second one for running them bridged. It's a great product. Audition one for yourself, I believe it will sell it's self.

    Blah faceplate....awesome performance

Written By MikeG, Belmont NH on Monday, April 18, 2011

This integrated rocks. No matter what I do or the type of music I listen to, there is no distortion and this amp will feed you as much dynamic power as your speakers require. I run this amp with the C375 CD and PSB Image T6 and a self powered JBL sub, and I have never heard such spacious detail in an amp at this price, or twice this price, before. It makes everything you listen to sound better, and wait until you hear the horns that it produces. Incredible!!

    Very, very happy owner.

    Excellent

Written By Tony, St. Augustine, FL on Monday, January 10, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I upgraded my speakers to the new 5000 series drivers. My integrated tube amp drove them well but they craved more power. After research and reviews, I ordered the 375 BEE from Crutchfield outlet. Ordered on a Tuesday afternoon and received on Thursday afternoon.

My speakers are 4 ohm and this amp is rated at 150 wpc. That is conservative. It easy does 200 wpc and can output up to 400 wpc for brief periods when needed. The sound is detailed - mids are clear and might I say tube-like. Low end is excellent. For solid state it does not have any of the harshness of lesser solid state gear. Visibly it cannot match my tube amp for the wow factor but the sound quality is definitely better. I can drive this amp hard and instead of being fatiguing it simple creates massive amount of high quality sound that just hits your body and amazes you.

Highly recommended and as always, Crutchfield does it the best.

I am rather surprised at what I got! I was expecting to return this amp because I doubted it would drive my speakers to the magic I fell in love with ... surprise!! It does an awesome job with the VS' Bass is back, stage has increased and holographic imaging is magnificent. Shoot, I may toy with adding a pair of Thiel CS 2.5's as an alternate set of speakers!!

    NAD 375 BEE

Written By Stuart, White Stone, VA on Sunday, April 11, 2010

Purchased the NAD 375 BEE amplifier to drive a pair of low impedance (4 Ohm 86 DB Sensitivity) floor speakers. With is so much hyperbole from the exhalted extant, purchasing a better Amp can prove to be a daunting and expensive task. Based upon the laws of diminishing returns I sprang for this heavyweight, in return it rewards one with melodious dynamic unruffled power, fulfilling its purpose with aplomb.

Exceedingly courteous purchasing experience from Crutchfield's
