and listen to music, movie, & photo content stored on your iPod/iPhone through
your home entertainment system. The URC Personal Server offers on-screen
automated iPod/iPhone operation via select URC remote controls (554MX450,
sold separately) and a television with component video inputs. The PSX-2
connects to your home audio system via stereo audio RCA outputs.
Component Video Output: The URC Personal Server's component video
output provides an on-screen menu to browse your iPod/iPhone's contents and
playback of your iPod/iPhone's video contents on your connected television.
Note: This unit does not feature a composite, S-video, or
HDMI output.
Analog Audio Output: The URC PSX-2 connects to your home audio system
via a rear-panel stereo audio RCA output, so you can listen to your iPod or
iPhone through your home entertainment system.
Note: This unit does not feature a digital audio output.
On-Screen Menu: The URC Personal Server (PSX-2) provides an On-Screen
menu with Cover Art, Song/Artist Text, and Track Information to browse your
iPod/iPhone's, using a compatible URC remote control.
URC Remote Compatible: The PSX-2 requires a compatible URC remote control for
operation. The device itself has no control buttons, and your iPod/iPhone's
clickwheel or touchscreen will be locked. The URC Personal Server (PSX-2)
features a front-panel IR sensor window for remote operation with select URC remote controls.
Note: A rear-panel IR input (3.5mm) and the included 10' IR cable
let you connect the PSX-2 to the URC RF base station (554MRF260,
sold separately).
Content Browsing: You can browse your iPod/iPhone's stored content by
Playlists, Artists, Albums, Songs, Podcasts, Genres, Composers, Jukebox,
Audiobooks, Movies, TV shows, and more from your connected television; using a
compatible URC remote control.
ABC Search: By entering a single letter you can quickly navigate long
lists of songs, artists, albums, genres, playlists, movies, TV shows, or videos
stored on your iPod/iPhone. You can enter as many letters as you want to narrow
down the search results.
Instant Shuffle Play: You can shuffle the playback of unique music
subsets on your iPod, instead of shuffling the entire music content on your
iPod. You can shuffle the playback of any genre, artist, or album.
Play More Function: When you hear a song you like, you can use the
"Play More" function to browse only songs from that particular artist, album,
genre, or composer.
Jukebox (Playlists): Using the PSX-2's "Jukebox" function, you can
create personalized playlists of up to 1,024 songs. The unit's built-in memory
retains the playlist as long as the same iPod/iPhone is always used. The created
playlist will be lost if another iPod/iPhone is inserted, during a reset, or if
there is a power failure.
iPod/iPhone Sync (via Ethernet): Via the PSX-2's rear-panel Ethernet
(RJ-45) port and the URC PSXLink software, you can update your iPod/iPhone's
music and video content without having to remove it from the dock. PSXLink is a
free download for both Macs and PCs. It can be downloaded from the Universal
Remote Control website -
www.universalremote.com. Your Mac or PC will need to meet the following
system requirements to use the URC PSXLink software.
