About the SIRIUS SIR-GM1
If the factory stereo in your 2003-up General Motors vehicle is satellite radio-ready, you now have the option of adding a SIRIUS radio.
This package includes everything that's necessary for you to play SIRIUS through your compatible factory stereo: a SIRIUS radio, a roof-mount antenna, and the adapter cable that connects the radio to your stereo.
You can mount the compact radio easily in a convenient spot behind the dash. The adapter cable hooks up to the radio at one end, and to your factory stereo at the other, providing all signal and power connections. The magnetic antenna mounts firmly on your vehicle's roof, and connects to the satellite radio. An extra connection lets you keep a factory (or factory-compatible) CD changer connected to the system.
Note: Your in-dash stereo must be have the factory satellite radio option to work with this SIRIUS package. If you're not sure whether or not your factory stereo is satellite radio-ready, ask your local dealership. A SIRIUS subscription is also required.

Features
Overview: The SIR-GM1 is a Sirius Satellite Radio tuner that is compatible with select 2003-2008 General Motors vehicles. The package includes the proper interface cables and a magnetic Sirius antenna. In addition to the tuner, a subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio programming is also required.
Compatibility: The SIR-GM1 is designed to be compatible with select headunits from 2003-2008 GM vehicles that operate on the Class-2 bus. In many cases, the tuner can replace the factory XM Satellite tuner. It is also compatible with some systems that support Satellite Radio operation, but did not come with a tuner from the factory. Compatible headunit types include CD only, CD + Cassette, and 6-CD changer headunits, as well as Touch Screen and Non-Touch Screen monitor headunits. The factory radios in the majority of the compatible vehicles must have a "BAND" button. In some cases, the radio must have a factory satellite connection (noted by an asterisk in the chart below). The SIR-GM1 is compatible with most additional factory audio accessories that might be included, such as Rear Seat Audio Control Center, Rear Seat Entertainment (DVD/Monitor) System, Heads-up Display, and Steering Wheel controls.

Tuning Features: The SIR-GM1 is designed to emulate many of the factory SDAR (Satellite Digital Audio Radio) commands found in the vehicle, including Channel Tune (up/down), Fast Tune (up/down), Category Search (up/down), Category Tune (tune within a category), 12 presets (6 for each band), and Preset Scan (up).
Display Capability: When the SIR-GM1 is installed it has the capability to show the following information on the headunit display: Channel Number, Channel Name, Category Name, Artist Name, and Song Title Name. The number of characters displayed in the Artist Name or Song Title Name varies by headunit type (8 or 16 characters). Text Scrolling and/or Paging is not supported with the SIR-GM1.

Ordered the SIR-GM1 form Crutchfield for my 2007 coupe A6 3lt with Bose/nav. Installed today . How much easier can it get? Took about 5 min. to install (used the XM antenna) 2 min to register. Works great.
