Overview: The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router combines 3G and Wi-Fi
technology to turn your vehicle into a Wi-Fi hotspot using Autonet Mobile's
internet service (1-year service plan required). The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router
allows you to connect multiple Wi-Fi enabled portable devices (such as iPod
touch, iPhone, PDA, smart phone, Sony PSP, or laptop), so you can surf the web,
upload and download files from secure websites, download applications, watch
YouTube videos, play games, check e-mail, or stay connected to a social network
inside your vehicle (or up to between 100 and 150ft outside of it).
3G Network: The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router runs
over both 3G and 2.5G cellular data networks to give you broadband speed and
expansive coverage over the entire United States. Over the 3G network,
download speeds average from 400kps-800kps and upload speeds range from
128kps-300kps. When not on 3G, the average download is 120kps-200kps and
50kps-100kps for upload.
Wi-Fi Connection: The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi router uses Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g)
technology to wirelessly communicate to your Wi-Fi enabled portable device. The
Wi-Fi router has a range of up to 150ft, and can communicate with up to 10 Wi-Fi
enabled devices.
Antenna: The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router features a single
adjustable antenna that is capable of being positioned at 0, 45, and 90 degrees
and rotated for best reception.
TRU Technology: The Autonet Mobile Router is designed
to keep you from losing connection to its 3G network even when you are traveling
between cell towers, through tunnels, and in areas of poor signal.
Autonet Mobile uses TRU technology, which provides for an uninterrupted
connection while in motion. Autonet's proprietary technology eliminates
session, link, and content failure critical to moving vehicle and long TCP
sessions, VPN's, and Music.
Secure Connection: The Autonet Mobile router's Wi-Fi connection is
secured with WEP encryption, MAC address restriction, or WAN port restriction.
It also supports VPN pass-through. WPA2 will be available in the future.
Operating System: The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router works with any
operating system, including Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and Solaris.
Installation: The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router features a
docking cradle that can be mounted inside your vehicle (mounting screws not
included), and hardwired to your vehicle's power and ground wiring. A 2-pin
harness (power/ground) attached to the cradle, and 2-pin harness extension to
supply the unit with 12-volt power and ground.
Portability: Additional docking cradles can be purchased
(item # 087ASYDOCK) and installed in other vehicles, allowing you to transfer
the Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router from vehicle-to-vehicle. No additional service
contracts are required for the other vehicles.
Autonet Mobile Service: The Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi Router requires a
1-year service contract with a monthly service plan through Autonet Mobile.
Autonet Mobile offers two affordable flat-rate data plans:
- $29.95 provides up to 1GB of data per month
- $59.95 provides up to 5GB of data per month
Note: There is a one time $35.00 activation fee.

My Autonet Mobile: My Autonet Mobile is an online program that will
help you to take a closer look at the router's usage. You will be able to track
your router's usage statistics and be able to set a notification limit, so you
can receive an e-mail if any of the router's total traffic exceeds the limit you
set.
