Our take on the Logitech® Squeezebox™ Receiver

by Chris Egner

Add this receiver to your Logitech Squeezebox Duet and enjoy the music stored on your PC in a second room of your home. Connect it to a bookshelf system or tabletop radio in your bedroom, kitchen, or back porch — expand your system with as many Squeezebox receivers as you like, and pick up extra controllers for more convenient operation. You can synchronize all of your receivers to play the same song simultaneously, or listen to different music in different rooms.

This receiver's careful engineering and high-fidelity digital-to-analog converter give you detailed, accurate sound. Access music from many sources — you can play your computer's digital music collection, listen to Internet radio stations, or subscribe to online music libraries such as Pandora® and Rhapsody®. And the Squeezebox Receiver supports today's popular audio formats, including compressed, uncompressed, and even lossless files.

Great! A Tip for Secured Wireless Installation

Written By Glenn, Baton Rouge, LA on Saturday, January 31, 2009
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I decided to add a second receiver after owning the Squeezebox Duet for about a month. The Duet is the best audio product I've purchased in a long time. It opens a whole new world of music through Pandora, Rhapsody & Internet radio stations - vastly superior to the limited variety offered by satellite radio

I found one installation problem that is probably uniquely related to adding a second receiver, so I'm putting my comments here, for those considering
adding a receiver to an existing Duet setup.

On my secured wireless network, the Duet controller would not recognize both receivers. With security on, it found only the first receiver and with security off, it found only the second one.

The solution was to turn on the network security, reset both receivers by pressing the button on front of each receiver until it flashed fast red, and reset the hand-held controller to factory settings. That essentially returned the whole system to a new, clean state, where none of the units were set up
for any network. Then, when the controller was turned on, it went through the whole setup process again. It asked for the network password, and, after I entered it, found both receivers. Worked perfectly.

Great Product!!

Written By Josie, Atlanta, GA on Monday, July 07, 2008
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently purchased a Squeezebox Duet and bought a second Squeezebox receiver to synchronize speakers that are connected to 2 different receivers. the squeezebox receiver works just as great as the Duet!! It is pretty easy to set up (just make sure to set the connections to gain access through your Windows Firewall) and you are all set. All speakers now play the same or different music at the same time depending what I chose.

I really love this device!!
