Features
Overview: You can add this additional Squeezebox Receiver (596SQRCVR, sold separately)
to your Squeezebox system and listen to a
different song in each room, or synchronize them and hear the same music
everywhere. Any number of Squeezebox Receivers on your network can be connected to a single computer
with SlimServer. They can all play different music, or your can synchronize them
to play the same music throughout the house.
Note: This is not a stand alone unit. The Squeezebox Receiver is
meant as an add-on receiver to your existing Squeezebox Music system.
High-Performance Sound Quality: Expert engineering and sophisticated
audio rendering technology provide sound clarity to please even the most
demanding audiophile. The Squeezebox Receiver utilizes a
high-fidelity 24-bit Wolfson DAC, sophisticated audio rendering technology, and
digital outputs to provide crystal clear CD-quality sound.
Wireless Setup: The unit
features built-in 802.11b/g/n capabilities with an internal wireless antenna. The
Squeezebox Receiver's advanced 802.11b/g/n wireless technology eliminates the
need to string wires everywhere to listen to the music from your computer. The
unit also features a hardwired Ethernet connection.
SqueezeNetwork: SqueezeNetwork is an always-on
service (doesn't require that your computer is on) that provides access to
Internet Radio. You can access millions of songs, thousands of Internet
radio stations such as iTunes, Radio IO, RadioTime, Live365 and SHOUTcast;
and music service providers such as Pandora, Rhapsody and Slacker, without ever
turning on your computer using SqueezeNetwork, a unique Internet service. Even
your personal music collection can be stored online in an MP3tunes music locker
and played through your Squeezebox System.
Music
Libraries: You are able to stream the digital music files stored on
your computer (PC or Mac) over your home network to your existing Squeezebox Music
System.
Many compressed, uncompressed, and lossless formats are compatible.
- Compressed: MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, MP2, MusePack, and WMA
- Uncompressed: WAV,
PCM, and AIFF
- Lossless: Apple Lossless, WMA Lossless, and FLAC
Note: Not compatible with protected DRM music files purchase
from online stores such a iTunes or Zune.
Internet
Radio: Listen to thousands of free Internet radio stations from around the world
through your existing Squeezebox Music System;
access to talk radio, jazz, rock, pop, or your old favorite in the
town where you grew up through your broadband internet connection.
