CEA 2006 Compliant: The Pioneer GM-6400F Two-Channel Power
Amplifier power ratings are measured according to the strict standards dictated
by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards allow you to
accurately compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers,
even if they come from different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the
standards can display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging. CEA2006
Specifications:
- Four-Channel: 60 watts x 4 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N
- Bridged: 150 Watts x 2 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N
H-Shaped Chassis: The H-shaped bottom chassis utilizes Pioneer's
expertise and exclusive technologies to eliminate resonant vibrations. The
H-shaped bottom chassis ensures that your music is reproduced as intended, loud
and clear.
Superior Ground Parts: High levels of electric current can easily
create noise within an amplifier; especially ground noise. To avoid this,
Pioneer made careful consideration when designing and selecting components for
use within this amplifier. Only the best, most efficient parts were selected
after repeated testing to provide a superior noise-free listening experience.
Efficient Sub-Heatsink: When designing the amplifier chassis Pioneer
utilized a main heatsink and a sub-heatsink to dissipate heat. These efficient
heatsink structures ensure that the amplifier stay their optimal temperature
and keep cool.
Controls
Input Select Switch: The amplifier's input select switch allows you to
choose between a 4-channel or 2-channel mode. The 4-channel mode requires run
two pair of RCA cords to the amplifier's front and rear RCA inputs, while the
2-channel mode only requires you to run on pair of RCA cords to the amplifiers
front RCA inputs.
Gain Control: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming
from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the Pioneer GM-6400F features adjustable gain controls (0.2-6.5V)
for the front and rear channels of the amplifier. This means that no matter what kind
of radio is connected to this amplifier, the appropriate gain control adjustment
can be made to ensure loud, clear, distortion-free music. And even if the gain
control level is set improperly, Pioneer's Gain Control Caution feature will
automatically reduce the amplifier's output until the headunit volume is
decreased to acceptable levels. This added layer of protection helps to prevent
damage from occurring to the amplifier and the speakers connected to it due to
improper gain control adjustments.
High-Pass and Low-Pass Crossovers: Built into the GM-6400F is an
independent high-pass and low-pass
crossover network for the front and rear channels of the amplifier. The fixed low-pass crossover routes the big bass signals
(80Hz or lower, at -12dB/octave) to the speaker that handles them best, and
filters out higher-frequency signals to that speaker. The fixed high-pass
crossover routes the midrange and high frequencies (80Hz and above, at
-12dB/octave) to the speakers that cannot handle the lower frequencies. This optimizes your
system's efficiency and delivers the best possible sound quality.
Connections
Power Connections: The power
and ground connections are 0.5625" wide screw terminals that will accommodate up
to 4-gauge wire. The remote turn-on terminal is 0.375" wide and will accept up
to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen
the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended for the power, ground, and
remote wires.
Speaker Connections:The
speaker terminals are also 0.375" wide and will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire.
A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.
Spade connectors are recommended for the speaker wires.
RCA Input: The amplifier features two pair of gold-plated stereo RCA
outputs (Front/Rear).
RCA Output: The one pair of preamp output jacks provide a convenient
source for daisy-chaining an additional amplifier without running an extra set
of RCA cables from the front of the vehicle to the amplifier location. These
outputs provide a full-range signal.
Speaker Input: The GM-6400F's speaker level inputs and harness allow
you to connect your OEM unit (or any unit that does not have the typical
RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters.
Fuses: The GM-6400F features two 25-amp ATC blade fuses.
