C²Fine, 3LCD, 3-chip Technology: The Epson Home Cinema 8350 features
C²Fine 12-bit technology and 3LCD, 3-chip technology to give you rich, vibrant images for
enjoying spectacular movies, games, and sporting events in your home, or to
deliver sizzling business presentations at the office. This technology requires
25% less electricity per lumen of brightness when compared to 1-chip DLP
projectors.
Projection Lamp: The projector uses an energy-efficient
E-TORL 200-watt Ultra High Efficiency (UHE) lamp with a life span of
approximately 4000 hours in the Normal Mode. In the ECO mode, the life span is
increased to approximately 5000 hours. The lamp (Part # V13H010L49) and air
filter (Part # V13H134A21) are the only user-serviceable parts.
Light Output: In the normal mode, the Home Cinema 8350 outputs 2000
lumens of white light and 2000 lumens of color light for bright, balanced
colorful images. The white light output is measured using ISO 21118, a more
rigid standard than the ANSI lumens rating used by many competitors. The
projector is capable of a dynamic contrast ratio up to 50000:1.
Native Resolution/Resizing: The Home Cinema 8350 has a
native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (16:9 aspect ratio), and is capable of
1080p Full High Definition performance. You can resize your
images by changing the aspect ratio to 4:3 or 16:9.
Multiple Sources: The Home Cinema 8350 has inputs for multiple sources
to give you lots of choices. For connecting to your video equipment, the unit
features two HDMI (Ver.1.3) inputs, a component video input, an S-Video input, and a composite video input.
You can also connect your computer to the projector via the VGA input. Two loops
are provided on the back panel to provide anchor points for securing the
connecting cables with commercially available cable ties.
Compatible Video Formats: The projector supports analog
video in NTSC, PAL, and SECAM formats, and automatically adjusts to the incoming
signals. It can receive these formats as composite video, S-video, or component
video. The projector also supports digital video (SDTV, HDTV) through the HDMI
and component video ports. The following resolutions can be displayed:
- Composite Video or S-Video:
- NTSC: 720 x 480
- PAL/SECAM: 720 x 576
- Component Video:
- SDTV: 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p
- HDTV: 720p, 1080i, 1080p
- HDMI:
- VGA: 640 x 480
- SDTV: 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p
- HDTV: 720p, 1080i, 1080p
- Analog RGB (computer display):
- VGA: 640 x 480
- SVGA: 800 x 600
- XGA: 1024 x 768
- SXGA: 1152 x 864, 1280 x 960, 1208 x 1024
- WXGA: 1280 x 768, 1360 x 768, 1280 x 800
- Mac: 640 x 480 (Mac13"), 832 x 624 (Mac16"), 1024 x 768
(Mac19"), 1152 x 870 (Mac21")
Control Inputs: The projector has a 9-pin RS-232C port for
connecting to an AV Controller. In addition, there is a 3.5mm mini-jack port
that outputs a 12-volt DC signal when the projector is turned on. This lets a
central control system monitor whether the projector is on or off, and can be
used to raise or lower your projector screen automatically when the projector is
in use.
Color Modes: The Home Cinema 8350 offers five color modes
to optimize viewing for different environments and image content. The Color Mode
adjusts the brightness, contrast, and color for the best possible picture. A
different color mode can be selected for each input source. You
can select from these Color Modes:
- Dynamic: for projecting the brightest picture available
- Living Room: for watching television programs during
the day
- Natural: for projecting natural, accurate colors in a
dimly lit room
- Cinema: for viewing movies in a dimly lit room
- x.v.Color: for the most natural color reproduction when
viewing movies through HDMI
Advanced Color Adjustments: You can adjust the gamma and
individual RGBCMY color tones using the remote control. There are five gamma
settings to choose from (2.0 to 2.4), or you can customize your own settings
from your image or a displayed graph. You can also individually adjust the hue,
saturation, and brightness for each of the red (R), green (G), blue (B), cyan
(C), magenta (M), and yellow (Y) components.
Note: These adjustments are not available when the Color Mode is
set to x.v.Color.
Auto Iris: The Home Cinema 8350 features an advanced,
high-speed auto iris function that adjusts the light output based on the gamma
and black/white levels of your projected content up to 60 times per second.
Lens: The projector's Fujinon OptiCinema 2.1x projection
lens is a precision, high-quality, optical-grade system. It offers excellent
picture uniformity and clarity across the screen. If the projector cannot be
placed perfectly centered between the top and bottom of the screen, you can use
the lens shift dials to reposition the image. The top-mounted lens shift
controls off approximately 96% vertical and 47% horizontal lens shift without
image distortion.
Adjustable Image Size: The Home Cinema 8350 projector can produce
an image that is adjustable between 30" and 300" (measured diagonally).
Lens Projection Distance: The projector's adjustable lens provides a wide
range of placement possibilities for a given screen size. The projection distance
(distance from lens to screen) range is 2.85' to 62.83'. The distance for several screen sizes
at 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios are

bottom for a ceiling mount. A commercially-available Kensington security lock
can be attached to the unit to prevent theft when installed in a public
location.
Warranty Information
Warranty and Extra Care Home Service: The projector is covered by a
2-year parts and
labor warranty, while the lamp is covered for 90 days. Included with the
