Features
Overview: The Velbon Sherpa 4430D is an aluminum tripod,
equipped with the QHD-43D ball head, a quick-release platform, a two-piece center column, and lockable
4-section legs. The 4430D comes with a zippered nylon carrying case.
QHD-43D Head: The Sherpa 4430D's QHD-43D ball-type head is equipped
with the QB-62 Quick Release platform and a 1/4" tripod socket. The head features
a single tension adjustment for smooth movement and
more control. There are two slots to allow you to tilt the head 90° in either
direction for taking photos in portrait orientation. Two bubble levels and a
shoe lever on the head ensure the camera is level
perfect.
4-Section Aluminum Legs: The 4-section telescoping legs
feature quick lever leg locks for maximum stability. The legs
are tipped with non-slip rubber feet.
Leg Span Adjusting Knob: The leg angle can be adjusted to
one of three positions: Standard, Semi-Low, and Full Low. The bottom section of
the two-piece elevator column needs to be removed in order to angle the legs to
the Full Low position.
Extra 1/4" Screw: The elevator column has a 1/4" screw on
the bottom that can be used to mount the camera underneath the tripod. This is
helpful for macro photography. An optional hook can be attached to the screw for
hanging the camera bag, which stabilizes the tripod with the additional weight.
Elevator: The center column, or elevator, comes in two
sections. The lower section can be removed when the leg angle is set to the Full
Low position. The elevator has a 9.76" slide range, and must be manually raised
and lowered.
