This package includes everything needed to receive SIRIUS Satellite Radio through your compatible Kenwood receiver. The SC-C1 universal SIRIUS tuner connects to your Kenwood receiver through the included adapter cable. You'll see channel, song, and artist information on your stereo's display, and you can even save your favorite SIRIUS channels as presets. The adapter works with 2008-up Kenwood multimedia receivers that utilize the KAB Bus system.

The package includes a roof-mount antenna that attaches to your vehicle with its powerful magnetic base. The included removable metal mounting plate makes it easy to install the tuner box out of sight.

Note: A subscription to SIRIUS is also required. Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Limited service is available in Alaska.

Features

Overview: This package includes the Kenwood CA-SR20V KAB/SiriusConnect adapter cable and the SC-C1 SiriusConnect universal vehicle tuner, allowing you to add SIRIUS Satellite Radio to select '08 and newer satellite ready Kenwood multimedia receivers featuring a KAB port. The Sirius tuner is controlled by the Kenwood head unit.

Compatibility: This CA-SR20V/SC-C1 combination is compatible with satellite radio ready Kenwood multimedia receivers featuring a KAB port; including select models in the following series of Kenwood multimedia head units:

DNX Series
DDX Series
KVT Series

Note: Please refer to the compatibility information for your specific head unit model.

Connections:

CA-SR20V: The 7.5" CA-SR20V adapter cable features a proprietary Kenwood KAB plug on one end which plugs into the back of your compatible Kenwood multimedia receiver's rear-panel KAB port, and a proprietary 8-pin SiriusConnect plug on other end which connects to the included SC-C1.
SC-C1: The SC-C1 connects to the CA-SR20V using a 63" SiriusConnect interface 8-pin DIN-cable that integrates power, audio and control through a single connection.

Note: Cannot be used in conjunction with Kenwood's external HD Radio tuner.

Mounting: The SC-C1 comes supplied with a removable metal mounting plate with three pre-drilled holes on either side and four self-tapping mounting screws to secure the device to a solid, flat surface. The mounting plate can be removed allowing the unit to be mounted directly to a smooth, flat, clean surface using either double stick tape, Velcro or other adhesive material (not supplied).

SIRIUS Antenna: The compact SIRIUS antenna has a powerful magnetic base that allows you to mount the antenna on the roof or trunk lid of your vehicle. The antenna needs to be positioned in such a way that it will be free of mechanical and line-of-sight obstructions. The attached antenna cable is 21' long. The antenna measures 1.605" wide x 0.505" tall x 2.005" deep.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an excellent little add on to my KENWOOD DNX7140. Installation only took a little over an hour and I was up and running. I was tired of listening to nothing but advertising on my local stations and this was definitely worth the money. I control the unit through my stereo so I don't have that extra bracket hanging off my dash like you would with the removable units.

Pros:

Fast and simple Installation, integrated controls with my head unit.

Cons:

Slight delay when switching stations (~2seconds) but not enough to take away any stars.

Works great! I connected this to my Kenwood DNX9960 in a 2006 GMC Envoy. Not much to say, the thing works awesome.

Pros:

Fast and simple set up. Works right on my dash with no glitches (doesn't have to be on the roof or anywhere on the vehicle's exterior).

Cons:

None.

Sirius add on to the Kenwood DNX 6980

Glad I ordered this from Crutchfield! The price after the rebate (through Sirius XM) couldn't be beat. I installed the Sirius unit myself. I have installed a few car stereo and home stereo systems. About 2 hours for the Sirius install for me: unhook car battery, pull dash apart (I highly recommend a dash removal tool to avoid scratching your dash. you can get one through Crutchfield), remove head unit, fish wire from radio to Sirius adapter, run antenna cable from rear roof to front of car and plug in, TEST SIRIUS TUNER BEFORE mounting Sirius Tuner under dash, reinstall radio and dash and finally reconnect battery. I recieved a fualty Tuner and Crutchfield replaced ASAP NO PROBLEMS. Called Crutchfield Friday and recieved new Tuner on Monday mid day. GREAT SERVICE! Thanks! Works great!

Pros:

Always something I like "on", Crutchfield Service and Return Policy, Great selection of stations, Sound as good as radio(if not better), good for long trips- don't have to search for new channel in every other county.

Cons:

Subscription can be pricey for a good selection of stations, No 3m tape to mount Tuner however antenna wire hold down for the roof does. My Kenwood DNX 6980 receiver does not show station icons.
